I just checked my Coinbase account and noticed that I received some Bitcoin Cash. And I didn't even purchase them. Is this an error or did someone else also receive this early Christmas present? lol

If you held Bitcoin in Coinbase on August 1st, that was when the fork occured that created Bitcoin Cash, so you're being credited with BCH you were entitled to. It's 1:1 so for every Bitcoin you owned you got a Bitcoin Cash token.
