I'm new to this. My funds dropped from 300$ to 256$ overnight. Then when I wire transferred it to my bank I was charged another fee which ultimately left me with 229$. Is this normal? I just moved 1000$ to block chain and it's pending.

I'm not quite sure what you mean when you say "then [you] wire transferred it to your bank." Do you mean you transferred cash to your bank? Or maybe do you mean that you sent BTC not to a bank, but to an online wallet or a sportsbook? (Traditional commercial banks don't usually deal with bitcoin).
Also, on the $1000 you've moved to the blockchain, I'm guessing you mean that you've sent $1000 worth of bitcoin somewhere (maybe to an online wallet or to a sportsbook or an exchange?) and it's currently pending on the blockchain?

Thank you for the indepth response. The 1.5 percent wire transfer from Coinbase to my financial institution i wasn't aware of so that answers my one question. But I transferred 1000 from Heritage to Block Chain and I was just concerned that it may lose value while waiting for confirmations?Comment -
