Advice On Saving $ Using Coinbase
Coinbase is one rigged website. I don't care what anyone says... the more you click around... and jerk around... the "surcharges" increase. They NEVER DECREASE.

Has zero to do with the Bitcoin price increasing.

So my advice to anyone using Coinbase to make a quick transaction.

    1. Have your amount that you want set in your mind seconds before logging in.

    2. Make sure you know exactly what you want in BTC.

    3. Log in.

    4. Make sure you select using a CARD or ACH.

    5. Quickly review the transaction and then click confirm.

The more you click around... while logged in... the system catches this and you'll get smoked on the surcharges.

The most honest and cheapest site to purchase coins is GEMINI. Everyone should be buying from them.

Here's another piece of advice on how to save money with coinbase. Don't use coinbase. Moneyshot's right their handling of the fork was very dirty and they hold bank wires for a week. Among other things...

I thought they credited wires overnight. They used to at one stage for sure.

I googled it and a lot of blogs are claiming you can. But again... I'm not 100% sure. Maybe start entering your data in and see if it works?

But yeah.... Coinbase is very dirty. The only way you beat them is getting your transaction done within 15 seconds. I'm not kidding. You keep clicking around..... watch the rate increase on you. It's ridiculous.

I've sent and withdrawn wires from coinbase multiple times and it always takes a week.

An actual wire? Or an ACH bank transfer? Thye take 5 business days. Wires are supposed to be overnight.

If your bank doesn't charge you 15 or 20 bucks then it isnt a wire.

My last one was on March 16th and I was charged a fee of $29.80. I can't see whether it was a wire or ACH. I thought it was a wire but I'm not positive.
Opti, if you are sure that wires are overnight than let's go with that info.

I haven't done it so can't be sure. only going on their stated time frames and other peoples reports.

If you are paying your bank that much (over the top fee btw) then it's not ACH. That's free.

I would just use ACH and avoid the fee if I was you. It gets there overnight but Coinbase wont clear it for trasnfer out for 5 business days.

I wonder if the wire delay is something to do with the bank on your end? Have not heard of anyone else having this delay before.

I'd email Coinbase and ask them if they have any idea. Might not get a reply before December but still might be interesting to know.

It's not my bank. When I wire to Itbit it's there same day. Like 3 hours. Also, it was coinbase charging me the $29.80. My banks charges $10 to do a wire within the US.
I just don't use Coinbase anymore. Too many other better options. With the kind of money they are making they should staff enough people to respond to emails in a timely manner.

10 bucks for a wire is a good price from your bank.

And 30 bucks from Coinbase to receive a wire (if that is what it is... as I also havent heard of this fee from anyone else before) is OUTRAGIOUS.

ItBit or Gemini do seem like much better alternatives these days. Only thing Coinbase has that they dont is purchase by c card.
