Good news. All 4 major exchanges that initially refused to award their clients their BCC/BCH have reversed their positions:
1. Bitstamp will award BCC, but hasn't given a specific time frame.
2. Poloniex: Following a 4chan organized DDOS attack, they've now promised to credit BCC by August 14th.
3. Coinbase / GDAX: these co-owned exchanges have pledged they'll distribute BCC, but they've set a bizarrely long time frame: by January 1, 2018. 5 months in crypto time is like 5 years in real time (if you doubt that, bear in mind BTC was trading about $1100 5 months ago). I mean, who knows, BCC might be trading at $5 by then.
The Effect on You: Well, there's going to be a bunch of sellers hitting the market on August 14th, and on whatever dates the other 3 exchanges award their BCC. That's likely to decrease the price of BCC/BCH around those dates.
