Basically I am living in Ireland right now. I want to buy bitcoins to send to a US pokersite and play there. How do I do this?

      bitcove.ie
      bitex.ie
      eircoin.net

      Are three Irish bitcoin exchanges.

Choose the one with the best deposit withdrawal options for you.

When you join they will give you an online wallet like Skrill or Paypal does. There will likely be separate ones for Bitcoin, Euros, Pounds or whatever they support.

They will probably ask you for some form of ID.

Once setup deposit some money to your Euro wallet, for example.

Then you will choose to buy bitcoin and exchange the funds in your Euro wallet for funds in your Bitcoin wallet.

Once that is done you are ready to deposit to the poker site.

Go to the site and click deposit and select bitcoin and they will likely ask you how much in US$.

Once you enter that the site will probably tell you exactly how much bitcoin to send and give you their bitcoin wallet address.

Then go back to your exchange wallet and click on send bitcoin, or it might be withdraw bitcoin, enter the exact amount of bitcoin the site asks for and then copy/paste their wallet address into the receiver field. Then click send.

You will usually see the deposit show up in your account in 10 to 40 mins.

When withdrawing you need to go to your exchange wallet and find your bitcoin receive address. You will probably click something like Deposit Bitcoin and be given the receiving address.

This is the address you give the site to withdraw your winnings to.

Once it's in your exchange wallet you can exchange it for Euros and make a withdrawal to your bank or whatever they offer.

So I tried those sites, they only seem to accept bank transfers...Are there any other exchanges I can use that might take credit card/debit card or skrill?

Also what wallet should I sign up to? Is blockchain ok to use if I want to deposit/withdraw to and from a gambling site?

You might have mentioned those requirements before wasting my time typing all that.

Anything else you need? How do you plan to withdraw with a card deposit for example?

sorry about that optional I just figured they would all work. Well if an exchange takes card then they pay back in card right? If not I could always get it sent to my bank I guess, but of all the exchanges you mentioned none use my irish bank here. Anyway, I'm on the ignition poker website:

Learn the steps to make your first bitcoin deposit and withdrawal with Ignition Casino using this Bitcoin Guide. Find out about the advantages of playing online poker with Bitcoin.

That seems pretty straightforward, I assume that is all safe? I trust you more than I do a casino website....

There are hardly any options to buy by card. Most of them that do exist cost around 10% fee. I am not aware of anyone who pays to card for withdraws.

Why do you want to use a card is the main question?

Anyway, Coinbase is pretty much your only option with a reasonable fee to use card. Bitstamp and CEX also have options. coinmama, buy.bitcoin.com are other card options but as I say cost a lot.

If you want to use Skrill it involves buying Linden dollars from the first life game and trading them for bitcoin.

These are just not available options generally.

If you really have no idea about this as you stated, then take my advice and work out how you want to withdraw first. You will probably want somewhere with local banking to avoid international wire fees

I did not mention using any other wallet as you said you are in Ireland, where gambling with btc is not banned, and you said you wanted to use bitcoin to make transfers for poker, not hold it, so did not complicate things with a standalone wallet suggestion.

If you want a desktop wallet look at Electrum wallet. If you want one on your phone Airbitz for IOS or Myceleum for Andriod
