2012 Philadelphia Phillies are this years St. Louis Cardinals
Cardinals were 11 games back at this point last year and went on to win World Series.

Phillies look like they could sneak into the playoffs if they continue this stretch.

Their starting pitching is starting to rise up to the occasion and their bats are clicking.

As long as the starters can go straight to Papelbon, this team will win more ballgames now to the end of season then any team in baseball.

I hear ya and you can get 150 to 1 odds on that.

I may have to drop $500 on the Phillies.

Everyone one knows if they made the playoffs they would be so hot they would steam roll teams in the playoffs. Every year it's the team the catches fire about this time of year that wins it.

Look out for the Tampa Bay Rays as well.

its a shame they dumped their best two outfield bats... who knows though.. Dom Brown and Pierre are solid and Mayberry is a wild card..

definitely worth a few bucks though on a team with the staff that can rip off a nice winning streak at any point.. Pitching matchups line up well to take at lest 3/4 vs Cinci this week

Look back at the last 100 years and tell me how many times this happened. Thanks!

Their bullpen will keep them from getting back in the race

                what a joke.

cincy and wash got some sort of playoff spot

trailing atl, pits, stl, sfg, lad, arz

                tied with nym

u not only need to beast the rest of the season out, you also need 6 of 7 teams to sh1t the bed.

                chuckles.

Philly is 13 back of the Braves with 40 left.
All things factored in, schedule, etc. etc. etc. Philly has about a 1 in 800 chance of getting a playoff spot, and if you can find such a line, the books will probably give you 500-1 (if that)

I didn't say they would catch the Nats.

They won't but they are competing for the Wild Card.

                      The Pirates will drop games.

                      The Mets/DBacks won't play a factor.

They need to catch the Dodgers/Cardinals, which is a daunting task.

There are some games remaining vs Marlins/Rockies/Astros which should be easy to take the series.

It comes down to the series vs Braves/Nats/Reds
