Your info was great. IMO the site you reference is very important for first inning wagers, but the pitcher information is the most important. Still waiting for jsnb or some others to weigh in before I wrap it up.

The big play today is :
NO score OAK/BAL -135
With Zach Britton and Guillermo Moscoso..
Oakland have the better Team Opponent 1st Inning Runs per Game with 0.19 On average
Balti is the worst team 1st Inning Runs per Game with 0.18 On average.
ATL/CIN : Jair Jurrjens yes=0 no=8 Johnny Cueto yes=0 no=4
The Cinci/Atl game has high average first inning runs, but the pitchersare strong first inning pitchers. Tough call. I think if it gets by the top of the first it will be a NO. Not sure what, if anything I'm doing with this one.

Been working on this for about 2 hours to try to constantly fine tune it. I started with taking the first inning average runs and the first inning average runs against. From that I got my teams that made that cut. Then I took the pitcher info and used the other smaller filters I think are relevant, and came up with the following games:
Philly/Wash = NO Combined pitcher = 17-3 (no) Pitt/Mets = NO Combined pitcher = 15-3 (no) FL/AZ = YES Combined pitcher = 12-7 (no) Balt/KC = NO Combined pitcher = 16-4 (no) ANA/KC = NO Combined pitcher = 17-3 (no) TX/TB = NO Combined pitcher = 15-5 (no)
Good luck to all

Doubledime, just curious about why the MIN/DET game did not pass your filters. Both pitchers look like they are 8 no 2 yes but MIN scores .37 runs away and DET scores .72 runs at home which totals over 1.

Runs scored by opposing team are .37 and .32. Also Minn scores less runs against right handed pitchers, while Det does better against righties. Too much conflicting info IMO.

ATL/SD : Aaron Harang yes=4 no=5 Tim Hudson yes=5 no=5
DET/MIN : Nick Blackburn yes=2 no=8 Brad Penny yes=2 no=8
WSH/PHI : Roy Halladay yes=1 no=10 Livan Hernandez yes=3 no=8
CHC/HOU : Aneury Rodriguez yes=5 no=9 ( 5 no last 5 starts ) Rodrigo Lopez yes=0 no=0
Thanks, I was looking at just 1st inning runs per game, so opponent 1st inning runs per game is the stat to check. How many different filters do you use? You mentioned in an earlier post that you chart umpires.

Not using umpires today since we won't know the ump until right before the game. Can use umpires after the first game of the series since the umpires rotate.

I have been following this thread for a week or So now. Good info here. My question is how do you use this info to determine if there is a play? If it is a play, how do you determine unit size? Thanks

First play of the day:
No score 1st DET/MIN -105 ( 2 units )
I know that both of teams have score yesterday but i like this play, Nick Blackburn, RHP and Brad Penny, RHP play better and better.. They are two strong pitcher in 1st inning
Detroit are ranking 12th for MLB Team 1st Inning Runs per Game and Minnesota 23..

For me the most important info are:
-Pitchers stong or not in the 1st inning
-The wind for the game
-Team 1st Inning Runs per Game
-Team Opponent 1st Inning Runs per Game

Definetly important factors. One has to remeber though, wind is less important if both pitchers are "ground ball" pitchers.
