    Labby System and High Odds
I got a great question about using the Labouchere System that I thought I would share with everyone. The question was referring to http://www.guide-to-baseball-betting...abouchere.html

Question: You appear to assume that the line is going to be the same for every game. How do you use this money management system when one game is -110 and the next game is -200? Do you wager on the "to win" or "amount risked"? And if you do bet "amount risked" and lose the first game at -110 line followed by a -200 line, how do you get back previous losses?

Answer: Hi ______, thank you for your question.

The labouchere system works well when the odds are lower for the exact reason that you bring up. When the odds get big, e.g., -200, unless you bet "to win" you won't be able to get back lost bets. And when you start betting "to win", it becomes very risky. I certainly don't recommend this.

I don't use the labby system if the odds are higher than -150. In fact, I don't bet the money line at all if the odds are higher than -150; I split between money line and run line so that if the favourite wins by only one run, you break even. Odds -200 or higher, I skip altogether.

To make money with -200 odds, you would have to win 70% of your bets. Not the best money management taking odds like that. Especially when many sportsbooks shade their lines towards the favs. See http://www.guide-to-baseball-betting...rts-books.html

I explain how to use the run line in the "Baseball Super Series Betting System" on page 15. Did you download the free e-book? If not, I suggest you do so so you understand how to reduce your risk by using the run line. I don't get into the labby system but I do explain how to play high odds.

Great question. I'm going to have to elaborate on this when I've got some time to do some writing.

If you've already downloaded the system, I will start sending out daily picks in two weeks.

    All the best,

    Bob

I do want to add that I "don't always" use the labouchere system. As a progressive betting system (some call cancellation system), it still is somewhat of a chase system. And you must use caution when using such a system. I would suggest that if you want to use the labby system, try it on paper first.

In my opinion, however, the Labby System is a heck of a lot better than the modified Martingale System where you always bet "to win" lost bets plus your target money goal. I've tried this system and I can tell you that I don't think I've ever been more stressed when I had to make a wager on the third game. I like to have fun when I bet on sports and that's just not fun!

    Good luck everyone.
