I always love home under dogs. Plus Hernandez is respectable. Ill take experience over youth in this match up.

Getting the much better pitcher in this matchup regardless of what the numbers say after a few starts.

Astros are 1-4 in their last 5 road games vs. a left-handed starter.
Astros are 1-5 in Oswalts last 6 road starts.

Basically I'm going against Mets pitcher Figueroa in this match up. Perez has pitched good for the Nationals this year and I'm expecting a close game and taking the plus side.

912 Giants +134. Zito gets first win here. As documented a few posts above, not a great spot for the Astros, stats wise, and Giants and Zito have always played Houston tough. Yes Astros have been torrid, but think Giants put together a little streak here, having won 2 straight. Houston couldn't muster a hit til late yesterday and then went nuts. Think they go back to yesterday's early inning form.

Minn's bats came alive yesterday (3HR) against the Red Sox.
With ol' Hernadez on the mound today, he'll win the duel against Buchholz.

SF +134: line makes no sense, should be an EASY Astro win, playing accordingly

Lee's been the best pitcher in baseball thus far, but Marcum's been great in his own right, with 6 Quality Starts in his 7 outings.

Going with the hot team against a good pitcher who get's little run support. I think the public keeps thinking the Fish will fall...let's hope not tonight!

Wolf is worth a shot at this price, and I don't see the Cubs winning 4 in a row as I expect a letdown after sweeping Arizona.

Hoping Zito has found out his problems. SF at home and Oswalt a little shakey on the road.

SF +134: This line opened at hou-120. as hot as they are coupled with as awful as zito has been this year that line doesnt look right. forget where the line moved. pay attention to where it opened. houston has won 8 out of 9 with berkman hitting over .600. oswalt is 3-0 in his last 5 starts, to even up his record at 3-3 after an awful start where he couldnt find the strike zone. so it is no surprise that houston is being bet heavily here enough to push the line to +145 in some places. the bottom line here is that roy oswalt is 2-5 with a 4.08 career vs SF and despite zito's 0-7 start he is 1-0 allowed 1 earned run in a 7 inning gem vs houston last year in his only career start vs. houston. SF pulled zito off his last start whil he continued to work in the bullpen on mechanics building off his 7th start 10 days ago vs. pitt where he went 5 full giving up only 2 runs but still getting the loss 3-1. the last start was promising for zito, the start vs. hou last year shows what he is capable of against this team, and the +134 is enough for me to not only pick him here but to bet some actual real money on him as well. remember folks, its where the line opens.... thtas all that counts, and we all know that the way things are going so far this year oswalt and the steaming hot stros should be favored by much more than -120 here. i like sf to score at least 5 runs and zito to be in cruise control showcasing that big sweeping YAK tonight.

Houston is so hot lately and Zito's public perception is not so hot. It seems the Astros price shoud be higher, but because it isn't my play will be on the Giants. Good luck everybody!
