Baseball prospectus had them winning 71 games this year so I was surprised to see the total that low. Astros o/u is at 73.5 and I can't see them finishing ahead of the Pirates.Comment -
The irnoy there is it is just one game lower on Houston than the 74½ the Astros were hung with last year, a number that was calculated based on Roy Oswalt making 30+ starts for the club. When they traded Roy O to Philly, the 'Stros were pacing out around 67-68 wins, and I thought my 'under' was a winner. Houston won 76, just a game behind the Brewers for third in the division as it turned out.
Betting a team to either win or lose 97 is never a good bet from where I sit. The Phils could indeed be the only 100-game winner in the majors this season, but I won't bet that. Haven't put all of my futures wagers together yet, but if you put a gun to my head right now, I'd probably bet 'under' on Philly and 'over' on Pittsburgh.
I'm starting to cross the win totals with my simulations, and the one team that jumps at me is the 81½ on Florida, a good two wins higher, maybe three, than I was projecting for that club.Comment -

but last year hill and lind had brutal years and snyder was heating up then he got hurt... lost marcum but the kid drebek is a stud and could put up just as good of numbers
