      I still don't think that Lee is the answer plus he will face AL pitchers now. The O's manager is. The O's had a huge winning record with what they had.
      But I could be wrong.

                  as much as I hate it ... I think if Rays don't give up any other pitchers I think they still take 3rd ... would rather see them fall off the map completely though

                    although keeping a small market team like that competitive even after losing big in free agency would help the league ... I know every time the Brewers lose out in free agency the next year they falter worse than the prior year

                        You're likely correct, though I don't think third is a huge reach, certainly stranger things have happened than a team such as the roster Baltimore has finishing around .500 and taking third in the division.

                        This should be a good deal for both Lee and the O's. Can't help but think he becomes prime trade bait in July if he's producing decent stats (say .280, 15-18 HR at the time). Orioles get to grab another prospect or two dealing him to a contender and Lee gets another crack at playing in the postseason, showcasing himself for a new deal in 2012.
