Unwritten rule = you can't try to bunt when you are getting no hit. I forget who tried it several years ago (I want to say it was against Randy Johnson) but the batter tried to bunt and a brawl almost broke out

Evan Longoria tried to bunt when Dallas Braden had a no hitter against Tampa. But it was on the 5th inning.
