    Mlb tuesday
I am definatley not getting it done in Football this year. In the NCAA or the NFL. Been getting my asshole owned over the last 2 weeks. I am very disappointed in my capping abilities in Football this year. So going to try some bases for today.

    GAME 1
Neither team vertually has nothing to play for here. As their hopes for the play-offs of the 2010 season has diminished. New York opens up a four game series against the Brewers. The Mets have one more series at home against the Nats before the season ends, and has dropped 6 of their last 8 games.
Pelfrey (15-9, 3.75 ERA) has developed into more than a solid No. 2 starter behind Johan Santana for New York (76-79), leading the team in victories and eclipsing his previous career-high win total by two with two outings left.
Pelfrey seems like a perfect fit at spacious Citi Field, posting a 2.87 ERA in 17 outings. He's recorded a 1.61 ERA in winning his last three home starts. The Right-hander has done well in his last 3 starts, putting up some decent numbers, posting a 2-0 record with a 2.11 ERA. The Mets have won 2 o his last 3 starts in this situation. Lifetime Pelfrey is 1-1 with a 2.84 ERA in two career outings against the Brewers.
Milwaukee will counter with Dave Bush (7-13, 4.70), who is 0-2 with a 4.64 ERA in his last four outings. Bush yielded four runs over 5 1/3 innings Tuesday in a 4-3 home loss to Cincinnati, but it has been a long road trip for the Right-hander this posting a 3-5 record with an ERA just under 5.00. The Brewers have dropped 9 of his 13 road starts this year. Overall the Brewers have won 11 ot of his 30 starts this year. I like the Mets in this spot to close out their season strong.

      GAME 2
The Minnesota Twins need a strong final week of the regular season to claim home-field advantage for the playoffs. Minnesota is in a three-way fight with Tampa Bay and the New York Yankees for home-field in the AL. The Twins failed to help their cause over the weekend, with Sunday's 5-1 loss capping a three-game sweep by the Detroit Tigers. Kevin Slowey could use the opportunity to claim a spot in the team's postseason rotation. Slowey (13-6, 4.18 ERA) has pitched well since returning from a triceps injury Sept. 6, going 2-0 with a 2.30 ERA. He picked up his career-high 13th win in his previous outing Sept. 18 against Oakland, surrendering two runs and five hits in 6 2/3 innings. Slowey has not pitched the best on the road this year posting an ERA just under 5.00, but has got the wins to show posting a 5-2 record. The Twins have won 7 of 11 behind Slowey on the road. Minnesota has won all 3 of his previous starts. The right-hander is 5-1 lifetime against the Royals, but his lone loss came April 25 at Kauffman Stadium. This also might be Slowey's last chance to make his case to Gardenhire, who is trying to piece together his postseason rotation.
Kyle Davies (8-11, 5.05) will take the mound for the Royals, who have lost 2 out of his last 3 starts. Davies has faced Minnesota only once in 2010, allowing five runs and eight hits in 6 2/3 innings as the Royals fell 6-2 on June 9. He last defeated them at home Aug. 9, 2007. Davies is coming off his second-longest outing of the season Wednesday, when he allowed four runs and seven hits over eight innings in a 4-2 Royals loss. Pitching at home has not made much difference for the right-hander posting a below-aveage record of 3-6, not too mention the Royals have lost 8 of his 14 home starts his season. The right-hander has struggled against the Twins, posting a 4-6 record with a 4.88 ERA over 10 lifetime starts. First baseman Billy Butler is 2 for 16 against Slowey, while catcher Jason Kendall is 0 for 17. I like the Twins here they have more to play for and Slowey is looking to make his spot in the rotation. The Twins are 46-23 against Division Opponents this year. Getting a good price on Slowey because he lost in Kansas City earlier this season.

        GAME 3
Although the Padres have had little trouble beating the Cubs, that could change Monday night opener against the resurgent Carlos Zambrano. Zambrano is 6-0 with a 1.42 ERA in nine starts since returning to the Cubs' rotation from the restricted list, knocking more than two full runs off his previous ERA (5.61). He pitched effectively against the Padres on Aug. 19, allowing one run in six innings, but did not receive a decision in Chicago's 5-3loss. Zambrano has compiled a 0.82 ERA while winning his last three road starts. The right-hander lowered his September ERA to 0.98 on Tuesday, throwing six scoreless innings against the Giants at Wrigley but failing to earn a decision as the Cubs fell 1-0.
Dispite all the troubles that Zambrano has faced this year, He still manages a 9-6 over all record and a 3.56 ERA. He's 2-1 with a 2.28 ERA in four career starts at pitcher-friendly Petco Park.
The Padres counter with Tim Stauffer (5-4, 1.95), who gave up one run and three hits in six innings of Wednesday's 3-1 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. The right-hander is 2-1 with a 2.57 ERA in four starts since moving to the rotation from the bullpen. He is 2-1 in his last 3 starts with a dominating ERA of 2.65. The Cubs have nothing to play for and has no pressure for a play-off or wildcard spot. Zambrano and the Cubs get the win here. Putting your season in the hands of a relief pitcher that has a few decent starts in probably not a good idea.
