ATL (-130) On Mike Minors Debut!

Put $100 on this last night, got it at -118 and -120 on the overnight lines, up to -130 now, also put $30 on 'em -1.5 +145.

Basically the Astros are not so great, and Minor's been doing quite well in Gwinnett, which is obviously not the majors, but as a Braves fan I like to read in to that a bit too much. Only thing that scares me a bit is how much we blow dick on the road, but we'll see.

Watched Minor at AAA Gwinnett. There is a huge difference between the batter's quality in AAA from the MLB. Don't take these numbers very seriously. To give you an idea McClouth is hitting HR's every other game in AAA where he couldn't hit shit for the Braves.

Yeah I said in my OP that as a Braves fan I'm reading in to his AAA numbers a bit more than I should. But at the very least it's encouraging to see McLouth not only hit the long ball, but taking some walks as well and cutting back on the strikeouts a little, especially when Ankiel is striking out every other at-bat.

If by "WEAK", you mean the Braves are leading the NL East by 2 games...then yeah, I guess the Braves are "weak".

That having been said...the Astros have been playing better of late and its hard to back a rookie in his first major league start on the road. I'll be pulling for the Bravos but sitting this one out.

I like the Braves but I would not expect them to stray from what they have been doing which is be dominant at home and bad on the road especially coming off the nice series win against SF. Real let down spot for Atlanta here and it has nothing to do with the kid pitching. I am sure Minor will be an outstanding pitcher in the future but the truth is the Braves don't score runs very well and are even worse on the road scoring. Braves can't buy a clutch hit with RISP. Hopefully I am wrong and the Braves take care of business. The Braves really should sweep them but I doubt that happens.
