The public continues to bet on the Cards. Joe Schmo doesn't realize they have a below average offense (in the NL no less). They're a name team with name pitchers and Pujols.

The Cards haven't been a dog in a game since May 6th when it was Loshe vs Halladay. They are -11 units over their last 10.

Jgetz... where in my context do you see me mention me betting on the Cardinals. If i was betting on them, why would i bump this thread with them not scoring at home against the Marlins and losing another game being a decent favorite.

I think your the one that is whining. Did you lose a ton today and then getting all uptight now?

Sure they will make the playoffs. They just will be eliminated the first round just like they did the last few years. They are the Angels of the N.L. Always a great record in the regular season and win their decision and lose the first round just like how the Angels lose to the Red Sox almost every year in the 1st round.

I just mentioned that I never seen a team gets such high lines which they do not deserve and then you keep on saying I bet on the Cardinals. If they keep losing as -200 favorites... why would i continue to bet on them while laying -200 an up. Use your brain kid. You sound heated tonight.

And to everyone else, the Cardinals are -225 at home again with Wainwright the next game. They have no offense and continue to be ridiculous high favorites that they don't deserve. They got swept by the Astros and i recalled they were -200 all 3 games with the final game being -320 i think.

I don't believe any team that has a horrible offense deserves to be this big of a favorite. The Yankees and Phillies are the only 2 teams that deserve these high lines because even when they are down by 3-4 runs, its never over with them. With the Cardinals, if their starting pitcher gives up a few runs, they are in big trouble.

certainly worth a shot, way too much chalk to lay on the cards tomorrow afternoon.

I'll second the notion that the Cards are MLB's most overvalued team. It's just 14-9 against teams with losing records.

Unfortunately, that kind of mediocrity will get them about 90 wins and put them right there in the hunt when playoff time rolls around.

I played the Cards to win the division and over for season wins (88 or 89 I think}. My pre season view of this team was overrated. They are good but the Reds are going to make them work. Now they are in a slump which doesn't help. I still think they will get there but if I could switch my bets to the Reds I would.

Think I'll give FLA a chance for the ml win today-only concern is that Wainwright carries the team to victory somehow. Worth a shot at that price-I have a feeling this line is inflated because of that John Morrison system or something similar. Cheers

Well well well. The Cardinals are already down 1-0 with runners on 1st and 3rd for the Marlins. If they Marlins make it 2-0 or 3-0, it is going to be over once again. Cardinals have no offense whatsoever. Now if this were the Yankees or Phillies down 2 or 3 runs in the first inning, you would not be worried at all. With the Cards, once the pitcher gives up 2 runs, they are in deep trouble.

I had the marlins yesterday and took them again very small today on the alt RL. $25 to win $73. Not sure how long this cold spell will last, because I think that they are a very solid club. But for my money, I'll be betting against them until they turn things around.

I have no clue why Cardinals are again this heavy of a favorite. They have their best pitcher in Wainwright on the mound and they are laying -270 and up. This team should never be this big of a favorite when their offense is HORRIBLE. Watch when the Cards are down 2-0, the game is usually over because they have no offense at all. Also a total of 7.5. Didn't they get swept last time by the Astros and all the games they were -200 with Wainwright being -320 in the last game and losing as well?

Only teams that should lay this kind of chalk is an offense that can score runs like the Yankees, Rays and Rangers. When you bet the Cards you better hope the other team don't score first otherwise you are in trouble.

As a Cardinal fan I would agree that they are way overvalued a lot of the time.

They are such huge favs cause Wainwright will take care of business, its just you never know if the offense brought their bats or not. At this point in the game I wish I was on the Brewers +1.5 RL

And this team continues to be -180 and up with Wainwright, Carpenter and Garcia on the mound with NO OFFENSE AT ALL. Now they getting swept by the Cubbies. No baseball team should be this high of a juice with no offense
