DD - I completely understand you shutting down the regular plays. No sense in forcing it. Thanks for the great thread and discussions. My only question is: What's next?

Thanks HG and thanks for all your quality input.
Last year I had a NHL total thread and the regular season went 123-94 The playoffs did not go as well, as the year before.
I also like totals in college hoops.
I always like to use little known angles, such as the reliever angle in baseball.
After a few weeks I may be doing some NCAAF totals.
What's next for you?

I'm on to college football. College basketball is my favorite, but I tend to do a little better in football. (In the past I have been bad at record keeping, but I have finished football season with more $ than I started the last 3 years. Record keeping is one reason I started my thread.)
I play sides, game totals, and team totals in CFB. I'll do some NFL stuff too. My strength there is defensive player props (total tackles, mostly). And I have my CFL model up and running as well.
I posted my my first play for CFB earlier today. I have a play for tomorrow ready as well that I'll post early tomorrow after I lock in. After a few weeks I'll top out at ~6 plays on a Saturday. I enjoy writing the games up, so even if folks disagree, I'm at least providing info.
I know exactly zero about NHL, but I'll look out for your thread.
As I posted yesterday, if the Regular Play lost, it would be my last Regular Play for the regular season. It lost, so there will be no more Regular Plays until possibly the Playoffs. We end the year 118-78 +27.60 units. I wish we could have ended on a winning note, but it was not from lack of working hard to handicap these last few days. Still a respectable 60.2% for the year. We had some tough breaks/luck throughout the season, but we had some good breaks/good luck also. My philosophy is that good or bad luck and/or breaks all even out over the course of time.
We will continue to post Reliever Plays on a day by day basis. If they keep winning, we'll keep posting.
DD
Finding your thread, along with DD's, has been one of the highlights of my MLB betting season, which is to say the only time I've still bet MLB this far into the season and for this long while staying profitable.

I agree with Mang, your thread was huge! You also sounds like a class act type of dude, which seems to keep the trolls out. Sorta sucks that the season is coming to an end but maybe we'll have a few pleasant NFL, NHL or NCAA surprises this offseason.
Let's hope this will be a trend of the future or become contagious!

TT - I didn't follow your thread closely, but I have seen your posts and results. Like DD, I appreciate the way you carry yourself here. Regrettably, the NCAAF forum lacks much of the decorum and idea sharing we've seen develop here during the MLB season. My hope is that I'll continue to see some of the good folks during the football season. Best of luck going forward.

guys do u know any bookie that offers 'points by player' option in NBA. my country bookies offer that with odds 1.85 for over under but its not really profitable since fuckers take 5% from every stake and 12% from every win

Thanks for the nice words TT. As we discussed, well have to talk during the off season and see if we can find some common ground to improve our winning % even more.

Agreed with your sentiments. Does your thread only exist on the MLB forum? Or does it also appear in the other sports? I'm not sure if SBR has the capability to allow a single thread to appear on multiple forums.

I don't know the answer to that. Kind of annoying if it only appears in the baseball forum. But the way it looks in the NCAAF forum right now, maybe it's better to just hide out here.

Good morning,
No Reliever Plays for Friday
Since most teams did not play yesterday, their relievers had a day off which is an auto no play. Also, the two games that the relievers did pitched quite a few pitches yesterday, would normally qualify, however one of the starters in each of those games averages over 100 pitches per game and therefore statistically, the relievers will not have that great of an influence, therefore, also no play.
Good luck

I thought Cubs/Giants would be a reliever play but then realized what a workhorse (and stud!) Lester is. Still think the Cubs will pound in plenty of runs so Cubs RL it is for me instead, particularly as Suarez rarely goes deep in the games and the Giants pen looks pretty taxed.

Yes, Lester averages 103 pitches per start. If he gets on a roll he may go 8+ innings. Also, even though wind is not figured into the Reliever Plays, the wind is blowing in from center at 10 MPH.
Good luck with your play

Hi DD, not sure if you have covered this but does it even make sense to play reliever plays with rosters extended?

Good point. Not really sure. I am going to use more filters to limit the plays and see what happens.

Good morning TT. Today is the holiday Labor Day on this side of the pound, just a regular Monday for you.
At this time of the year I am going to keep posting these until I lose two days in a row and then I will stop.

Too bad it didn't pay double since it was more than 2X the number
