These superstat systems are great. There is so much info out there. Last year I tried to have JMon make some of these trends into queries as its an SDQL thread . Its not easy but possible. Maybe someone can help?Comment -

Why should you play against a good slugger team against a good starter with a respectable bullpen?
This doesn't take the own pitching into account, where the game is played (H/A), opposing offense or whatever.Comment -

#338So I've been trying to dig in and understand some of these Totals Systems. I today I was checking to see how teams do after having 3 Overs in a row and then I broke it down by team to see how each team performed in that situation. Then I wanted to see how they did in the month of May to see if there were any streaks by month. Then I added the parameter of >=2014 and I was blown away to see that Cleveland is 13-1 in this spot with a 79% ROI. Then I went and looked at 5Dimes and they're going off at +100. So I took it as a sign today. Just thought it was a nice little nugget that I came across and good timing today as well. BOL

What exactly are you calculating or hoping to understand w/ this part of the query:
tS(o:hits-starter hits + o:walks - starter walks) / tS(9-starter innings pitched)
Is that a common stat that or just something you came up with?Comment -

#346Its a tough one. Cards are 10-0 as an AF after a loss against AL competition And 4 and 0 in Day. But Wacha only 4 and 8 as AF. Conversely you have Bauer who is 5 and 1 as a HD. Id lean Indians and under personally As they are 11 and 1 SU in last year and a half in Thurs day games. Line going up. IdkLast edited by Alex Vaile; 05-14-15, 10:40 AM.Comment -
