    All* Handicapper Report - 9/11 (beta23)
If you are new to this, you may want to see this post which explains the methodology & motivation.

Today's News: I'm getting today's report out bright and early to maximize its use for today's games. I'm working on some new stuff for future editions, but don't expect to see anything major before at least Monday due to the huge amount of data I have to process on football weekends.

The list is getting a little unruly with a few people appearing twice because of the different names they go by. If you see any duplicates, please let me know so I can combine them into 1 line.

Another bad day for the average capper drives the average result below -2 units for the first time.

Today's Picks: I will be posting plays from the several of top cappers in this thread throughout the day, so check back for that. Please feel free to add some yourself to save me some effort and for other readers convenience (even if the plays are already posted on SBR).

If you want to help this project succeed, you can help by:
    1) Donating points is easy and motivates me to keep working. I put at least 3 hours a day into the list, so its nice to receive the appreciation.
    2) If you see a record that looks suspicious, let me know. I'll be happy to supply the underlying data so we can figure out if I made an error in entry.
    3) Forwarding the plays (past or present) of any email services you subscribe to me (ThaddeusB at mail.com). This will help me fill in gaps in coverage and all units to improve accuracy. PM me if you want more details.
    4) Alternatively, if your favorite capper posts their paid picks for all to see shortly after the start of game, let me know, and I'll start grabbing them daily. I don't want to use cappers self-published past results, though, for obvious reasons.
    5) If you own a paid service and want to ensure 100% accuracy here, send me a PM.

Also, if you want want a custom report using different criteria, let me know.

Usage note: Picks have been graded based on the closing line using a flat 1 unit bet on all picks (e.g. 1 unit of -110 favorite wins .91 units). This is meant to give an idea of what the X-X record really means, not to track the cappers published units recommendation. For the select few who substantially move lines with their plays, my methodology may distort their true record slightly. I am collecting actual units and time stamps and will incorporate them into later versions of the report. However, the first priority is to enter more data.

For those unfamiliar with statistics, a p-value roughly means the probability that one could obtain equal or better results solely by chance (i.e. lower is better). For a more thorough explanation, see Wikipedia. The p-value allows us to compare apples to oranges - which is better 5-0 on large favorites, 5-4 on underdogs, or 10-5 on a mix? Well, p-value can give us a good idea!

    * "All" doesn't mean every handicapper on the planet, just everyone for which I have data. The report is currently very incomplete, but unbiased (i.e. no available data has been purposely excluded).

    Report Stats:
    Total Cappers Tracked: 555 (+7 since beta22)
    Profitable Cappers: 213 (38%, -1%)
Average Result: -2.08 units (-.29 units)
Total Graded Picks in dB: 10766 (+501)
    Dates Covered: Aug 13-Sept 10 (+10th)
Sports Covered: MLB, NFL, WNBA, NCAAF
