The UFC heads to San Antonio today as we offer our Noche UFC predictions with featherweight contenders Diego Lopes and Jean Silva squaring off in the main event at Frost Bank Center.

Lopes aims to rebound after a failed bid to dethrone Alexander Volkanovski this past April at UFC 314, where a unanimous decision halted a five-fight win streak. The streaking Silva, by comparison, is perfect in five UFC outings and 13 straight, most recently submitting Bryce Mitchell on that same April bill.

The bantamweight co-headliner sees divisional fixture Rob Font vie for a third straight win opposite David Martinez, who makes just his second walk to the Octagon on an eight-fight win streak.

💰 Best bets for Noche UFC 2025

🥊 Joaquim Silva by KO/TKO or submission vs. Claudio Puelles (+275) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

In a clash of lightweights ending lengthy layoffs, the striker gets the nod.

A solid bruiser who’s finished over half his 13 victories by KO/TKO, Joaquim Silva gets a favorable matchup in Claudio Puelles, a grappler who remains astoundingly green on the feet and will likely spend the contest shooting for naked takedowns or diving for leglocks.

Given that Puelles’ only chance at victory is on the mat, Silva’s 69% takedown defense will be tested but should hold up, especially as Puelles becomes more desperate in his attempts.

With a striking output over double that of Puelles and the latter defending just 46% of the opposition’s attempts, Silva will find a home for his mitts sooner than later and put a hapless, overmatched Puelles down before long - be it with a salvo or club-and-sub.

🥊 Tatiana Suarez by submission vs. Amanda Lemos (+155) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Amanda Lemos is no scrub, but anything less than an emphatic return to form for Tatiana Suarez in this strawweight scrap will be a major disappointment.

The former has suffered three losses in her last seven outings, and in each of them, she was either submitted or handily outwrestled. Being a world-class wrestler herself with solid submission skills, Suarez should treat Lemos to a similar fate and resort to what she does best after failing to dethrone Weili Zhang in February.

With a gaudy average of 4.65 takedowns per 15 minutes and four tapouts in seven UFC victories, expect Suarez to add to those totals, drag Lemos to the mat, and have herself a grand ol’ time before wrapping things up with one of her patented chokes.

🥊 Carlos Diego Ferreira ML vs. Alexander Hernandez (-110) ⭐⭐⭐

And now on to something a little more likely - at least statistically. To complete our trifecta of undercard bets, we’re going with moneyline action on longtime lightweight veteran Carlos Diego Ferreira, who should bring Alexander Hernandez’s three-fight win streak to a halt.

Not only has Ferreira faced stiffer competition, he boasts solid striking at 4.82 zingers landed per minute, slick grappling with seven tapouts, and faces a man who’s been outgunned and outgrappled on several occasions over his UFC run.

Indeed, we all know what Ferreira does well but can’t definitively state what Hernandez does well, even after 16 walks to the Octagon. In short, Ferreira meets a man who’s undeniably game but has struggled to find himself as a fighter, and I expect the former to survive some hairy moments but outwork Hernandez to get back in the win column.
