🟨 Getting the book out
Don't miss the rest of our soccer picks for every game this season.
Arsenal should dominate possession here, which will create plenty of opportunities for Wolverhampton to get physical and make challenges. The Wolves lead the league with 358 fouls and have the fifth-most yellow cards (55) through 26 games.
Paul Tierney is overseeing the game, just his fifth Premier League game this year. His previous games have resulted in two, five, five, and four yellow cards. He's not scared to get out the book, and the Wolves - who had five yellows in the reverse fixture - should find their way in at least twice.
Leg 1: Wolves Over 1.5 cards (-132)
🚫 Anemic offense vs. elite defense
The Wolves have found the back of the net just 16 times this season, nine fewer than any other team in the league. Arsenal have conceded just 18 times, the fewest in the league. This battle of bottom vs. top is also very much a battle of anemic offense vs. elite defense, and it will show.
Arsenal understands the importance of coming away with a victory, and will play its normally structured game. If the Gunners get out to a lead expect them to employ a conservative approach, preferring to come away with the three points comfortably instead of pushing for needless glory.
Leg 2: Both teams to score: no (-154) | Parlay total (+183)
🚩 Set piece FC
This is another angle that's going to focus on a convergence of styles. Arteta's system relies on overlapping full-backs and is heavy on crosses from the wingers, which result in deflections that end up as corners.
The Wolves will almost certainly employ the low-block in an effort to slow Arsenal, packing the penalty area to limit the effectiveness of the crosses. That style of play will also lend itself to additional deflections for corners.
Arsenal had eight corners on its own in the reverse fixture, and might be able to get there on its own.
Leg 3: Over 8.5 corners (-172) | Parlay total (+342)
🚀 Shooting away: bonus pick
Since joining in the offseason, midfielder Martin Zubimendi has evolved into more than just the holding midfielder Arsenal fans were expecting. With Kai Havertz out, Martin Odegaard dealing with a knock, and the Arsenal attack generally struggling against the low block, Zubimendi will have the freedom to move forward and play just outside the box.
Zubimendi has put up about 0.9 shots per 90 this season, and he should get the better part of 90 minutes in this one. Doesn't even have to be on target, just gotta let one rip.
Bonus leg: Martin Zubimendi 1+ shots (-225)

🌤️ Wolves vs. Arsenal weather
Not nice. Looks like it's going to be mid-to-low 30s F and feel even colder due to win. Expecting quite a bit of rain, maybe even snow, with winds in the 20 mph range and gusting up to the 30 mph.
