Manchester City have owned Fulham for more than a decade. 

They’ve won 18 straight times in all competitions since 2012, the longest losing streak a team has endured against another in English football history.

Although Fulham are eight points behind City in the table in 15th place, the improved Cottagers will make City sweat in a game when I expect both teams to score.

Fulham out to end years of pain

Fulham appear to be hitting their stride following a slow start to the season. They scored two early goals to beat Tottenham 2-1 away from home over the weekend, their fourth victory in five games across all competitions.

Second-placed City most recently beat Leeds United, but they were lucky to escape with a win during a game in which defensive frailties emerged again after conceding twice against their relegation-threatened opponents.

While Fulham’s defensive record hasn’t been great this season either, their organized attack comes with the ability to make City coach Pep Guardiola uncomfortable. Especially on the counter if they can dispossess Manchester City and stay composed in threatening areas.

Kenny Tete vs. Jeremy Doku

With Manchester City sure to dictate the pace of play, expect Jeremy Doku to be busy down the wing as the talented winger tries to break Fulham open.

It’ll be Kenny Tete’s assignment to stop Doku. But I expect the right-back will pick up a yellow card in Tuesday’s game while trying to defend the gifted Belgian, who's one of the most-fouled players in the league after drawing 22 fouls in 13 appearances.

Tete has only been given one yellow this season, and a host of Fulham players have been assessed more. But the 30-year-old, who has committed one foul per game this season, is going to get disciplined in a moment of frustration while trying to contain the pacey Doku.
