Team USA is the heavy -480 betting favorite to secure its third gold medal. With the Americans expected to have the upper hand, I'm featuring Hilary Knight and Abbey Murphy. Knight must be on cloud nine after getting engaged at the Milano Cortina Games, which I discuss more below.

Hilary Knight anytime goal (+120)

Hilary Knight has feasted on Canada recently, scoring five goals in four Rivalry Series games. That haul included a hat trick and a two-goal performance.

While she didn't score against Canada in the 5-0 preliminary-round win, Knight provides a menacing offensive threat every time she's on the ice, which will be a lot. She hasn't been at her best this tournament, with only two goals. But don't let that deter you from backing her, particularly as she's one goal away from breaking the all-time USA Olympic goals record. I'd play this bet to +100.

Abbey Murphy Over 1.5 points (+162) 

Like her captain, Murphy tends to go off against Canada, as demonstrated by her seven points in four Rivalry Series games.

She scored a hat trick in the first game and two in the third. At these Games, Murphy has seven points thus far, two behind Caroline Harvey for the team lead. I'm placing a standard 1 unit on the bet, which would yield a 1.62-unit return thanks to the +162 odds. 

Sarah Fillier Over 0.5 points (-140) 

I don't love the short -140 odds, but Fillier and captain Marie-Philip Poulin represent Canada's best chance of breaking Team USA's tournament-long shutout streak. Fillier's -140 offers better value than Poulin's -152. 

Fillier has six points at the Olympics, trailing only Daryl Watts, who leads the team with eight. She scored two goals in the Rivalry Series and has been Canada's most consistent offensive threat throughout the Milano Cortina Games.

Only seldom do I place a 2-unit bet on a player prop, but Knight's circumstances warrant it.

Not only is Knight one goal away from setting a new American women's Olympic goals record (she has 14, tied with Natalie Darwitz and Katie King), but she got engaged at the Milano Cortina Games on Wednesday to American speedskater Brittany Bowe. 

As if the prospect of a gold medal weren't enough, Knight will be giddy entering the contest, and I'm expecting her happy vibes to manifest on the ice into a record-breaking goal.

I'm adding one leg from the three player props I've recommended. That's Hannah Bilka to light the lamp. She leads Team USA with four goals, tied for the tournament lead with Sweden's Thea Johansson. 

I'm expecting a 4-1 Team USA victory, which allows for enough wiggle room on the United States' player props. Fillier, meanwhile, will have to notch a point on Canada's only goal in my projected scenario.
