Top NHL Parlay Picks for Monday: Plenty Of Goals in New Jersey

The NHL has a small slate on Monday with only three games, but there are still a few good looks for our top parlay picks of the day.
There may only be three NHL games on the docket tonight but there’s a good betting angle in each one. For tonight’s top NHL parlay picks, I’m looking at a Toronto team to stay hot, a high-scoring game in New Jersey, and a strong defensive matchup in Los Angeles.
Here are my top parlay picks for Monday’s NHL matchups (odds via BetMGM; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5 star scale).
Monday's NHL Parlay Picks
Toronto Maple Leafs (-133) ????Vancouver Canucks-New Jersey Devils Over 6.5 (+105) ????Boston Bruins vs. Los Angeles Kings first period Under 1.5 (-135) ???

NHL Parlay Predictions
Leafs (-133)
The Leafs are coming off a crazy 10-7 win in Detroit and are now down in D.C. to take on the Capitals. Toronto won each of its last two games after losing three in a row. Washington, on the other hand, has lost two in a row, including a 2-1 loss to Philadelphia on Saturday. The Flyers had previously lost six straight.
Toronto's defense and goaltending have been suspect recently, but it gets a good matchup against Washington tonight. The Capitals scored just one goal in each of their last two games.
The one advantage that the Capitals have is in the crease. Petr Mrazek (8-4-0, .893 SV%, 3.07) has been subpar for Toronto while Ilya Samsonov (17-9-3, .904 SV%, 2.85 GAA) has been a bit better for Washington. However, that isn’t enough of a difference to make up for these teams on the whole. Toronto has the fourth-best xGF at 5-on-5 play (54.40%) this season while Washington sits in the middle of the pack at 13th (51.30%).
The Capitals may be home, but that hasn't meant much this season. They're 12-10-5 at home while the Maple Leafs are 15-9-3 on the road. I expect Toronto to get back to their game against the Capitals for the first pick of our NHL parlay.
Canucks-Devils Over 6.5 (+105)
These two teams have seen a lot of goals recently and that shouldn’t change tonight. Vancouver has gone Over 6.5 goals in five straight games and New Jersey has done the same in three straight and five of its last six.
Two of the big reasons I expect a lot of goals are the goaltenders. Jaroslav Halak (2-5-2, .899 SV%, 2.93 GAA) gets the nod for Vancouver in the back-to-back and it'll be Nico Daws (2-1-0, .906 SV%, 2.64 GAA) for New Jersey.
On top of that, both teams have scored and allowed over 30 goals in each of their last 10 games. Vancouver has outscored teams 42-30 in that span while New Jersey has been outscored 43-37. Both teams are averaging seven or more total goals per game in their last 10.
Both offenses are healthy and both goaltenders are weak. Go with the Over in New Jersey tonight.
Bruins-Kings first period Under 1.5 (-133)
On the season, both Boston and Los Angeles have allowed 40 goals in the first period (52 games for Boston, 53 for LA). That's come down pretty dramatically as of late with just two goals against in the Bruins' last 10 first periods and five against in the Kings' last 10.
The Kings also struggle to score in the first period with just seven goals in their past 10 first periods, although that is a bit higher than you'd expect given their league-worst 31 goals in the opening frame. Boston is a bit better at 50 in 52 games and has been on par with that with nine goals in its last 10 first periods.
It should be Linus Ullmark (17-8-1, .909 SV%, 2.76 GAA) for Boston and Jonathan Quick (14-10-6, .913 SV%, 2.55 GAA) has been confirmed for Los Angeles.
The Bruins and Kings play similar styles of defensive-first hockey and this is going to be a good game in Los Angeles. There will be a feeling-out period early on, allowing the first-period clock to wind down without many offensive chances.
Combined Odds: Maple Leafs (-133) + Canucks - Devils Over 6.5 (+105) + Bruins-Kings first period Under 1.5 (-133) = +512
