Artemi Panarin will be introduced to the rivalry between the Edmonton Oilers and Los Angeles Kings tonight as both teams look to halt losing streaks in their pursuit of the playoffs.

My Oilers vs. Kings prediction expects another close and high-scoring matchup between the Pacific Division rivals, while I also offer my score prediction and top player prop bet. Puck drop is set for 10:30 p.m. ET from Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles (ESPN, Sportsnet), with the Kings a slight -108 home betting favorite.

💰 Oilers vs. Kings prediction & best bet tonight

Over 6.5 (-108)

The Oilers and Kings don't play low-scoring games. They've gone Over this total in six of their last seven matchups.

And Edmonton continues to be a mess on the back end, allowing the fifth-most goals in the league this season. Goaltender Tristan Jarry was just pulled last night in a tie game after allowing five goals - woof! I'm thrilled to be getting better odds on the Over than the Under at FanDuel and ran to place my bet at the -108 price tag. There is value betting this up to -115, however.

Score prediction: Kings 5, Oilers 3

🔥 Best Oilers vs. Kings player prop bet

Connor McDavid Over 3.5 shots (+108)

Connor McDavid has tallied at least four shots on goal in four of his last five games against the Kings.

Throw in the fact that the Kings have been dreadful on the penalty kill (fifth-most power plays against and fifth-worst PK%), and McDavid will have even more opportunities to get pucks on net with the Oilers' No. 1-ranked power-play unit. I bet this player prop at FanDuel's +108 odds, but would look elsewhere if you can't get it at a plus-money price tag at your sportsbook of choice.

🚨 NHL player props & goal scorer picks for Thursday

I'm backing Artemi Panarin to score his first goal with the Kings as part of my NHL anytime goal scorer predictions today, while our Gary Pearson offers his three best NHL player props for Thursday.

📊 Live Oilers vs. Kings odds tonight

This game opened as a pick'em and has since only moved slightly in the Kings' favor. Both teams played last night, but the Kings are at home once again, while the Oilers remain on the road after playing in Anaheim on Wednesday. For that reason, and the current bad vibes surrounding the Oilers, I expect this line to move slightly further in Los Angeles' direction (perhaps to -115).

As far as the total is concerned, I think the odds on Over 6.5 will shorten the closer we get to game time. Los Angeles' loss to the Golden Knights on Wednesday featured 10 goals, while Edmonton's defeat to the Ducks featured 11. The -108 odds at FanDuel for Over 6.5 won't last for long and will be the favored outcome by puck drop tonight.

💡 How I'm betting Oilers vs. Kings tonight

Follow all of our NHL analysis and expert predictions this season.

Bankroll management is a crucial element for a long-term, successful betting strategy.

The Kings and Oilers have split their last 10 head-to-head meetings (each going 5-5), which is why my full one-unit play is on the total instead. I'm still targeting the Kings to win a close matchup and for Connor McDavid to have an active shooting night as well, with each being a wager of 0.5 units.

🚀 Oilers vs. Kings same-game parlay

As far as the regular season is concerned, the matchups between these teams couldn't be much closer over the past few years. But I see the Kings taking control of this rivalry following the acquisition of Artemi Panarin, which will help L.A. win a high-scoring game at home tonight. With open ice and both teams trading goals, give me Connor McDavid to be heavily involved in the action there. Parlays are difficult to hit and more for enjoyment, which is why I only place 0.2 units on them.
