I'm featuring a pick from four of six contests on today's NHL slate. 

My NHL player props today headline Kirill Kaprizov, Macklin Celebrini, Leo Carlsson, and Connor Bedard, the former two of which are 5-star plays for altogether different reasons.

Kirill Kaprizov Over 1.5 points (+135) vs. Blues 

I'm backing the Thrill to return to his usual high-scoring antics against the St. Louis Blues. Kaprizov notched at least two points in five straight meetings, making St. Louis sing the blues at the mere thought of facing him. 

He has 11 points in that sample size and is just two goals away from breaking the Wild's franchise record. The Blues played on Saturday and have the league's worst road defensive record, allowing 3.81 goals per game.

BetMGM offers the best price at the best sports betting sites, and I'd play the wager to +125.

Macklin Celebrini Over 3.5 shots (-130) vs. Jets 

Celebrini fired at least four shots in seven of the previous nine games and at least five in four of the last five. The 19-year-old phenom has also enjoyed productive outings against the Winnipeg Jets, registering six shots in two of three head-to-heads. 

I also like Celebrini to score a goal, which he did twice in three games against Winnipeg. The bet is near the limit of what I'd play. Anything beyond -140 is too pricey for my liking. 

Leo Carlsson Over 0.5 assists (+105) vs. Flames 

Carlsson is heating up, an exciting development for Anaheim Ducks fans. He has a goal in three straight, along with three assists in that tiny sample size. 

That's after going six games without notching a point. Carlsson has been a streaky player this year. He's scored in three straight five times, two of which were turned into seven and nine-game point streaks. 

I expect the Ducks to get a break with their opponents. The in-form Dustin Wolf should get the rest after playing on Saturday, with Devin Cooley replacing him. I'd play this bet to even-money +100 odds. 

Connor Bedard anytime goal (+200) vs. Mammoth

Bedard is sizzling hot, having scored in five of the previous six games. The Olympic break didn't impact the momentum he built as he scored in both games since the restart. 

Bedard is responsible for six of the Blackhawks' previous 13 goals (46%). So, if the Blackhawks score at least two goals, there's a great chance the 20-year-old will get one. The +200 odds are one of the most appealing parts of the prop. With the scoring form he's in, I expected odds of around +180.

I'd play this bet to +170.

I'm most confident in Kaprizov and Celebrini for different reasons. The former because of his recent success against the Blues; the latter because of his recent upswing in shot production.

I'm putting 2 units ($20) on Celebrini to increase potential returns. The -130 odds make the profit margin smaller, so I've doubled down only because of my high confidence. Carlsson hasn't scored against the Flames in seven outings, so I opted for an apple instead.
