NHL Player Props & Best Bets Today: Wednesday's Best NHL Prop Picks for Jan. 14

With just four games on tap, I'm profiling a pick from each contest in my NHL player props for tonight.

Jack Eichel headlines the quartet, with Tage Thompson also featured as players I believe will light the lamp. Artemi Panarin has been a profitable pick recently as the Breadman looks to extend his impressive assist streak. Jack Hughes, meanwhile, has assembled a much shorter streak but will look to add at least one helper against the Seattle Kraken.

Eichel netted four goals in the previous three games, his most productive output in comparative sample sizes. He scored two in San Jose on Sunday and lit the lamp the last time he played the Los Angeles Kings. 

His uptick has unsurprisingly coincided with Vegas' four-game winning streak, in which it scored at least four goals in each contest. The Kings, meanwhile, have lost three of the last four, conceding at least four twice.

Tage Thompson, Sabres, Anytime goal (+150) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Thompson netted 10 times in the last 16 games and scored the last time he played the Philadelphia Flyers. The surging Buffalo Sabres buried at least five goals in three of the last four games, and they're facing a Flyers team that conceded 12 goals in the previous two games.

Jack Hughes, Devils, Over 0.5 assists (-105) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Hughes makes the most of his seldom opportunities against the Seattle Kraken, posting five points in the previous three head-to-heads. 

The 24-year-old enters tonight's home contest having notched at least one helper in three straight. With seven helpers in the previous seven games, I like his chances of extending his streak to four games. The Devils scored five goals in their last game, which could bode well for their return to Prudential Center after a four-game road trip. 

Artemi Panarin, Rangers, Over 0.5 assists (-122) ⭐⭐⭐

Panarin is on a seven-game assist streak, posting 10. He's been one of the only bright offensive sparks for a New York Rangers team that has languished of late. 

Speaking of languishing, the Ottawa Senators conceded eight and five goals in two of their previous four setbacks. Panarin notched 11 assists in the last nine games, 32% of his total haul over just 20% of games. It's a 3-star play due to the short odds.
