Nathan MacKinnon has scored nine goals over his last eight games against the Wild, three of which came across two contests so far this season.

This is a matchup the league's goals leader knows well, and it's a huge opportunity for the Avalanche to put some more distance between themselves and the surging Wild at the top of the Western Conference. I love backing MacKinnon to deliver in this spot. I bet this player prop at +115 at DraftKings, but I would pay up to +100 on a MacKinnon anytime goal.

I'm sure they have bigger aspirations, but first and foremost, the Kings traded for Artemi Panarin to get past the Oilers.

Offensive firepower has held L.A. back against Edmonton for years, resulting in four straight first-round exits at the hands of the Oilers. The former Rangers forward brings a new level of playmaking ability to Los Angeles, and he tallied two assists last night in his first game with the Kings.

The Oilers' goaltending remains a mess after they gave up six to the Ducks last night. They've allowed the fifth-most goals in the league this season, and I'm backing Panarin to score his first goal in silver and black against Edmonton tonight at DraftKings' +175 odds.

Macklin Celebrini (+130) vs. Flames

Macklin Celebrini is coming off a dominant Olympic performance, leading the men's tournament with five goals as a teenager.

He showed the world what we following the NHL already knew: the Sharks star is already one of the sport's best players. With a lengthy road trip right before he left for Milan, this will be Celebrini's first game at the SAP Center in over a month. Given he's back at those friendly confines and shooting at a high level, I'm targeting Celebrini to score against the lowly Flames at DraftKings' +130 odds.
