Since Pete Carroll got his pink slip on Black Monday, rumors have been swirling about who will be the next head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders.

Our NFL head coaches tracker shows plenty of available candidates for the job, but whoever takes it will have their hands full. The Raiders finished 3-14 and have the first overall pick of the draft, but they have plenty of holes to fill.

Note: As of Wednesday morning Brian Flores is the favorite at 33%. Widgets may be behind actual pricing found on Kalshi.com.

After flop yesterday as Jesse Minter sprinted up the oddsboard, Brian Flores has grabbed the top spot in Las Vegas again.

As is the case across the entire coaching market, John Harbaugh (15%) becoming available has shaken up this race.

🏈 Why is Brian Flores the favorite to be the Raiders next head coach?

Initial reports gave Flores the upper hand for the job, and although he slipped behind Minter yesterday, he's back on top.

Despite Harbaugh joining the race, Flores remains a strong candidate, holding a 33% chance on prediction markets to become the head coach. And that makes sense.

Flores is a proven leader and has guided numerous impressive defensive groups in his storied career, which also includes a three-year stint as a head coach. The Raiders wouldn't be taking a chance on a young coach with Flores; they'd be bringing in a proven coach to guide a young roster.

Flores served in a number of roles on the defensive side of the ball in New England during part-owner Tom Brady's tenure as the quarterback, winning four Super Bowl titles.

🎰 What happened to Jesse Minter?

Minter wasn't a shocking favorite for this head-coaching gig, as he ticks a lot of the boxes that a team will be looking for. He's young, he's experienced, and his coaching record is impressive.

He was a defensive coordinator for Michigan during its 2023 national championship season (including a one-game stint as an interim head coach), and his most recent gig as the Chargers defensive coordinator has resulted in back-to-back years at the helm of one of the league's stingiest squads.

And then suddenly Baltimore had a vacancy. Minter plummeted down the odds table for nearly every vacancy, except for the Ravens next head coach prediction markets, where he immediately became the favorite.

🔮 Raiders next head coach prediction

Brian Flores (33%)

We outlined above why Flores is a prime candidate for the job: he has proven Super Bowl-winning experience. He's not a flashy young candidate, but this team is full of young pieces that could use a no-nonsense guiding hand.

And whether it will factor in, or is just a fun fact, coaching on a staff that led Raiders part-owner Tom Brady to numerous championships probably won't hurt. Familiarity with the owner is never a bad thing.

Getting his "yes" to be the next head coach of the Raiders at 33 cents is my Raiders next head coach prediction.

❓ How do you trade on prediction markets?

Think of prediction markets like the stock market, but for real-world outcomes. You sign up, add some funds, pick an event (anything from politics to weather to sports to entertainment), and then decide whether you’re riding with “Yes” or fading it with “No.”

Prices bounce around $0.01 and $0.99 based on what everyone else believes, and once the event wraps up, contracts settle at either $1 or $0. You’re not betting against the house - you’re trading against other users and cashing in if your prediction hits.
