Projected worst NFL weather games: Week 1
🥇 Cowboys vs. Eagles: Cloudy with a high chance of rain and thunderstorms.
🥈 Panthers vs. Jaguars: 91°F projected temperature.
🥉 Chiefs vs. Chargers: Cloudy with a chance of light showers.
🌧️ Cowboys vs. Eagles weather report
- Date: Thursday, Sept. 4 @ 8:20 p.m. ET
- Location: Lincoln Financial Field (Philadelphia)
- Forecast: 67°F, cloudy with a chance of showers and thunderstorm
- Wind: 7 MPH SSE
Betting impact: There's a 66% chance of rain as of Wednesday morning, meaning we could get a sloppy game or even have the matchup delayed if the potential thunderstorm comes to fruition. If there are showers, expect the passing games to be more limited in favor of the ground attack, which favors the Eagles and NFL Offensive Player of the Year odds favorite Saquon Barkley. On the other side, the Cowboys have an underwhelming running back room headlined by Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders.
🌦️ Chiefs vs. Chargers weather report
- Date: Friday, Sept. 5 @ 8 p.m. ET
- Location: Corinthians Arena (Sao Paulo, Brazil)
- Forecast: 59°F, mostly cloudy with chance of light showers
- Wind: 7 MPH SE
Betting impact: The weather should not have too much of an impact on this AFC West matchup in Brazil. It's expected to be cloudy, but if there's rain, it's likely to be minimal. Weather aside, a bigger concern for the Chiefs and Chargers could be the field conditions at Corinthians Arena, which were slippery in last year's Eagles-Packers matchup. The NFL has stated its commitment to improving the field for this year's Sao Paulo game, however.
⛅ Bengals vs. Browns weather report
- Date: Sunday, Sept. 7 @ 1 p.m. ET
- Location: Huntington Bank Field (Cleveland)
- Forecast: 65°F, partly cloudy
- Wind: 13 MPH WNW
Betting impact: It should be a sunny and comfortable day for the Battle of Ohio. We will likely get to see the Bengals and Browns unencumbered by the elements, making this a strong fantasy spot for offensive stars like Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase and Jerry Jeudy.
⛅ Raiders vs. Patriots weather report
- Date: Sunday, Sept. 7 @ 1 p.m. ET
- Location: Gillette Stadium (Foxborough, Mass.)
- Forecast: 75°F, partly cloudy
- Wind: 6 MPH WSW
Betting impact: It looks like it will be a beautiful day in Foxborough as Geno Smith takes on Drake Maye in Week 1. The weather isn't projected to be much of a factor as both teams' new-look offenses try to get off to a strong start.
⛅ Steelers vs. Jets weather report
- Date: Sunday, Sept. 7 @ 1 p.m. ET
- Location: MetLife Stadium (East Rutherford, N.J.)
- Forecast: 76°F, mostly sunny
- Wind: 6 MPH WSW
Betting impact: We're expecting an idyllic Sunday in New Jersey as Aaron Rodgers looks for revenge against the Jets. That could help the offenses, though this game has the lowest total of the weekend at 38.5.
⛅ Giants vs. Commanders weather report
- Date: Sunday, Sept. 7 @ 1 p.m. ET
- Location: Northwest Stadium (Landover, Md.)
- Forecast: 74°F, mostly sunny
- Wind: 7 MPH WNW
Betting impact: There's only a slight chance of rain for this matchup. That means the Jayden Daniels and Russell Wilson-led passing games should have ideal conditions.
☀️ Panthers vs. Jaguars weather report
- Date: Sunday, Sept. 7 @ 1 p.m. ET
- Location: EverBank Stadium (Jacksonville, Fla.)
- Forecast: 91°F, sunny
- Wind: 5 MPH ENE
Betting impact: It's expected to be a hot one in Florida, especially when factoring in the projected 71% humidity. Considering it's Week 1, both defenses could struggle with their conditioning in the heat. With that in mind, the Over/Under total of 46.5 looks a little low. I would be surprised if you had the Jaguars or Panthers defenses on your fantasy team, but if you do, this might be a good spot to sit them.
⛅ Titans vs. Broncos weather report
- Date: Sunday, Sept. 7 @ 4:05 p.m. ET
- Location: Empower Field at Mile High (Denver)
- Forecast: 80°F, mostly sunny with chance of isolated thunderstorms
- Wind: 8 MPH WSW
Betting impact: Weather shouldn't be much of a factor for this AFC matchup. But there is a chance of isolated thunderstorms, so we'll have to keep an eye on that ahead of Sunday.
⛅ 49ers vs. Seahawks weather report
- Date: Sunday, Sept. 7 @ 4:05 p.m. ET
- Location: Lumen Field (Seattle)
- Forecast: 73°F, partly cloudy
- Wind: 6 MPH WSW
Betting impact: It's projected to be mostly sunny with a very small chance of rain in Seattle on Sunday afternoon. The total for this matchup dropped from 45.5 points to 43 at the best sports betting sites, but that probably has more to do with a lack of faith in these offenses rather than any weather factor.
⛅ Lions vs. Packers weather report
- Date: Sunday, Sept. 7 @ 4:25 p.m. ET
- Location: Lambeau Field (Green Bay, Wis.)
- Forecast: 65°F, partly cloudy
- Wind: 8 MPH W
Betting impact: It's looking to be a very comfortable September afternoon for Micah Parsons' Packers debut. Despite Green Bay's addition of the All-Pro pass-rusher, this profiles as an offensive shootout with the total set at 47.5 - one of the highest of the Week 1 slate.
⛅ Ravens vs. Bills weather report
- Date: Sunday, Sept. 7 @ 8:20 p.m. ET
- Location: Highmark Stadium (Orchard Park, N.Y.)
- Forecast: 48°F, clear
- Wind: 6 MPH SW
Betting impact: It appears it'll be a cool but clear night in upstate New York. Nothing should get in the way of a barn-burner between teams led by Josh Allen and Lamar Jackson, who have won the last two NFL MVP awards. This matchup has the highest total of the weekend as of Wednesday morning, currently lined at 50.5 at the best sports betting apps, and profiles as a must-start spot for any Bills or Ravens on your fantasy rosters.
⛅ Vikings vs. Bears weather report
- Date: Monday, Sept. 8 @ 8:15 p.m. ET
- Location: Soldier Field (Chicago)
- Forecast: 60°F, clear
- Wind: 8 MPH S
Betting impact: It's projected to be a clear night in Chicago for the first Monday Night Football game of the year. It's ideal conditions for second-year quarterbacks Caleb Williams and J.J. McCarthy - though the defensive matchups should prove challenging enough for the young passers, even without inclement weather.
