Vikings vs. Eagles Same Game Parlay Picks: Will Cook Find the End Zone?

Top NFL same-game parlay picks for Vikings vs. Eagles on September 19.

The debut of head coach Kevin O’Connell was a success in Minnesota. Now can the Vikings take down Jalen Hurts on the road? Here are our Week 2 Vikings-Eagles same-game parlay picks.

Minnesota showed in Week 1 that its new passing offense is going to work out just fine, but the Vikings’ defense could make the difference during this week’s battle in Philadelphia.

Here are my same-game paryal picks for the Week 2 Vikings-Eagles Monday night matchup (odds via FanDuel Sportsbook; Pick confidence is based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Same-Game Parlay Predictions Vikings vs. Eagles

Vikings +2.5 (-110) ★★★★

The Vikings excelled both offensively and defensively during their Week 1 win over the Packers. Now the team will need to lean on its defense during a tough road matchup against the dynamic Jalen Hurts.

The Eagles’ dual-threat quarterback threw for 243 yards and ran for another 90 yards against the Detroit Lions in Week 1. The Vikings kept the Green Bay Packers' run game moderately in check last week, and they should be capable of limiting a Philadelphia offense that scored a league-high four rushing touchdowns in Week 1.

Minnesota finished 3-2 against the spread in 2021 as a road underdog, and the Vikings covered in the same role during Week 1 against Green Bay. Meanwhile, the Eagles failed to cover while allowing Jared Goff and Co. to sneak through the backdoor. If the Eagles play a similar prevent defense during an attempt to ice a lead over Kirk Cousins, it’s going to come back to bite them on Monday.

Smith Over 42.5 receiving yards (-114) ★★★

Devonta Smith recorded zero catches for approximately—let me double-check the box score—yes, zero yards during the Eagles’ Week 1 win. A penalty nullified an early reception, and then he didn't catch any of his other four targets.

Smith and Ravens tight end Isaiah Likely became the first NFL pass-catchers to receive four targets without catching a pass in a Week 1 game since Dorial-Green Beckham in 2016, according to AL.com. Eagles coach Nick Sirianni committed to Smith being a cornerstone piece of the Eagles' passing offense following Week 1, saying the team will fix his lack of touches.

A.J. Brown’s inclusion in Philadelphia's offense clearly muddies the waters for Smith. But the Eagles’ leading receiver from 2021 won’t dissolve into thin air. In a game that comes with a 50-plus point total, there should be plenty of targets to go around for Brown and Smith, as the Eagles will need to stay aggressive to keep pace with a rejuvenated Vikings offense.

DraftKings offers Smith Over 39.5 receiving yards at -140, which depletes the combined odds of the parlay too much for my liking. We’re looking to FanDuel for the -114 odds.

Cook anytime touchdown scorer (-120) ★★★★

Dalvin Cook’s role in the Vikings’ new offense should not be dismissed despite a quiet Week 1 by his standards. Cook ran the ball 20 times for 90 yards, but he mixed in for only three receptions for 18 yards. The three-time Pro Bowler didn’t find the end zone during the win, as the rest of the Vikings' offense played second fiddle throughout the Justin Jefferson Show.

Cook should get more looks when the Vikings saunter into the red zone this week, especially against an Eagles defense that allowed three rushing touchdowns in Week 1. Philadelphia's defense struggled on the ground in the defensive red zone in 2021, too. The Eagles finished tied for the eighth-most rushing touchdowns allowed last season (19).
