Seahawks vs. Commanders Prediction & Odds: Sunday Night Football NFL Week 9

The Commanders got worked over in the second half at Arrowhead. Will a similar scenario play out when they face the Seahawks at home in Week 9?

While we await news on whether Jayden Daniels will suit up when the Washington Commanders face the Seattle Seahawks, I have my doubts, which I outline in the Seahawks vs. Commanders prediction and early picks below.

The Seahawks, looking to improve to 4-0 against the spread on the road, are the 3.5-point betting favorite. Sunday's game will start at 8:20 p.m. ET (NBC) from Northwest Stadium in Landover, Md. The analysis below is part of the NFL predictions for Week 9

🏈 Early Seahawks vs. Commanders prediction & betting preview

Stay ahead with the rest of our early NFL picks for Week 9.

🟢 Seahawks -3 (-110) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Betting on Sunday Night Football now represents a prime opportunity to get the Seahawks at -3. That line won't last for long if the Commanders lose decisively tonight in Kansas City, the likelihood of which I covered in my Commanders vs. Chiefs prediction. There's also the issue of quarterback Jayden Daniels and whether he'll play for SNF.

We won't know if he's in or out until later in the week, but I don't expect him to play. His hamstring ailment is being compared to that of Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson. Again, it's too early to know for sure, but if Daniels can't play, the Seahawks will become larger favorites.

Seattle is 3-0 on the road, with a margin of victory of 8.3 points. They are 2-0 as the road betting favorite, will be well-rested coming off a bye week and have the second-best defensive DVOA and seventh-best offensive DVOA.

The Commanders, have struggled defensively, conceding at least 336 total yards in six successive games. And if Daniels doesn't play, the Seahawks will have the decisive advantage on both sides of the ball.

The best sports betting apps are unanimous at this early juncture, offering -110 odds. And a winning $10 bet will profit $9.09.

↔️ Seahawks vs. Commanders line movement

The Seahawks are the 3-point betting favorite across all of the best sports betting sites, with 72% of early bets backing them. There are no tells about where the betting lines will go, as the Commanders have yet to play the Chiefs on Monday Night Football.

However, I predicted the Commanders to lose to the Chiefs by at least 12 points. If they do, it will make the Seahawks the larger favorites.
