A matchup versus the tricky Chargers' defense is a curious one for Dart’s debut. But after Russell Wilson seemed content to throw the ball (and the game) away last week, the move to Dart isn’t all that surprising. Dart debuts with a passing yardage prop of 191.5 from the best sports betting sites, a number that points to clear value on the Under.

The Giants’ offense just hasn’t been effective this year. Wilson threw for less than 170 passing yards in Weeks 1 and 3 (a 450-yard game in Week 2 at Dallas inflates his stats substantially). Last week, the Chiefs showed the world how to stop this team: Apply pressure while double-covering Malik Nabers, forcing New York’s lesser-talented players to step up.

The Chargers boast the defensive personnel to replicate Kansas City’s success. They currently rank second in yards allowed per pass attempt (5.1) and are a solid 10th in pressure rate (21.3%). With a slow-paced Greg Roman offense on the other side of the ball, the Chargers’ complementary scheme is favorable for passing yardage Unders.

Bet the Under on 191.5 for Dart at -115 (53.5%) via BetMGM to potentially score an $8.70 profit on a $10 bet.

⬆️ Jaxson Dart Over 34.5 rushing yards (-114) ⭐⭐⭐

While the Chargers excel at limiting quarterbacks as passers, they don’t thrive as much when those quarterbacks leave the pocket. They've allowed the second-most rushing yards to quarterbacks (110) through three games. Patrick Mahomes ran for 57 yards, Geno Smith recorded 20, and Bo Nix posted 33.

Dart is a mobile quarterback, and the Giants have already shown a willingness to call designed runs for him. The rookie averaged an impressive 38.1 rushing yards per game during his final season at Ole Miss. Remember that sack yardage counts for negative rushing yardage in college, so his production is even more indicative of the signal-caller's rushing ability.

In a spot where he’ll likely have to scramble a lot, buying the Over for Dart’s rushing yardage makes sense. You can lock him in for Over 34.5 rushing yards for -114 (53.3%) at DraftKings to turn an $8.77 profit on a $10 bet.

⬆️ Omarion Hampton Over 17.5 receiving yards (-114) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

While the Chargers are strongly favored to knock off the Giants in New York, they’ll have to do it without Najee Harris. His absence will thrust Omarion Hampton into a larger role on passing downs that's conducive to increased receiving production. Through his first three games, Hampton is already averaging 24.3 receiving yards per contest, and 59 of his total yards came on his six catches last week.

Hampton’s strong Week 3 performance is a motivation behind this bet, but the stronger one relates to his peripheral stats. His 11 targets aren’t super impressive, but his 68 routes run certainly catch the eye (and 57.6% route participation rate). That’s a formula for success against a Giants defense that features talented run-stoppers like Dexter Lawrence.

Don’t be surprised if the Chargers look to get Hampton the ball in space on Sunday. The most efficient way for them to do that may just be through the air. And with his solid involvement in the passing game alongside Harris, one wonders how many more opportunities he’ll get with the veteran’s season now over.

Buy the Over 17.5 for -114 (53.3%) at FanDuel for an $8.77 profit on a $10 bet.

⬆️ Ashton Jeanty Over 65.5 rushing yards (-110) ⭐⭐⭐

NFL Rookie Player Prop Bets Week 4

We've faded running back Ashton Jeanty every week in this space, and we’re 3-0 in the process. But now that his rushing yardage prop has come down from the 70s into the mid-60s, it’s time to pounce.

Jeanty’s rough start to the season stems largely from poor offensive line play, as the Raiders rank a dreadful 32nd in run-block win rate (65%). However, they’ve played the second-, third-, and 11th-ranked defenses by run-stop win rate. They now get to play the 22nd-ranked Bears (28%).

All the numbers point to Jeanty being an electric runner in space. He ranks third-worst in yards before contact per attempt (1.1) but is a solid 20th in yards after contact per attempt (two), and the tailback leads the NFL in broken tackles. While Jeanty ranks 24th in total rushing yards (144), he sits 12th in yards after contact (93). Jeanty should get rolling if he faces less opposition at the line, and that’s what I expect to see versus the Bears.

Chicago’s run defense looked very exploitable against Detroit. Jahmyr Gibbs averaged 7.8 yards per rush while David Montgomery averaged 5.4. Similarly, Minnesota’s Jordan Mason averaged 4.5, and Dallas’ Javonte Williams averaged 7.6. Let’s flip our script on Jeanty and buy to go Over 65.5 rushing yards for the reasonable price of -110 (52.4%) at BetMGM, which will earn us a nice $9.09 profit on a simple $10 bet.

How do NFL player props work?

Player props are wagers on individual performances rather than the outcome of the game. Common props include passing yards, rushing yards, receiving yards, and touchdown scorers. For example, if a QB’s passing yards line is set at 250.5, you can bet the Over (251-plus yards) or Under (250 or fewer yards). You can also bet on if a specific player will score a touchdown in the entire game, the first or last touchdown, and more NFL odds.
