With Jacksonville struggling to generate production from its wide receivers, Jaguars head coach Liam Coen told ESPN this week that he’s looking to design and call more plays in which Hunter is the primary read.

Although Hunter’s four receptions last week against the Seattle Seahawks were the most he’s had since Week 1, he’s hauled in at least three balls in five of six games and drawn at least five targets in four of them. He also received career highs in snap share and route share last week, resulting in seven targets.

However, if you believe increased emphasis on Hunter could lead to a breakout performance from the rookie, you may also also want to consider BetMGM’s +125 price on Over 4.5 receptions.

Jacksonville’s offensive line looked more like a turnstile last week against the Seahawks, allowing seven sacks of Trevor Lawrence and failing to create many holes in the run game either.

I’m expecting the Jags to combat those issues by calling more pass plays to Etienne and the Jacksonville backfield. Etienne has already seen more work through the air the past two weeks, including a season-high four receptions and five targets against Seattle.

Meanwhile, the Rams have allowed 17 receptions to opposing running backs over the past two weeks alone. BetMGM’s -118 odds on Etienne Over 2.5 receptions imply a 54.13% probability that he catches at least three passes Sunday morning, paying $8.47 profit on a $10 wager.

With two of the Rams’ top receivers — Puka Nacua (ankle) and Tutu Atwell (hamstring) — either out or dealing with injuries that could limit them, Higbee could play a larger role in the passing game.
