The Los Angeles Rams will look to rebound during an easy matchup against the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. Let's dive in with our Panthers-Rams picks.
The Panthers have stumbled to a 1-4 start and now move forward without head coach Matt Rhule, who was relieved of his duties earlier in the week after signing a massive long-term deal just a couple of years ago.
The Rams’ start hasn’t been much superior at 2-3, so seeing the Panthers on the calendar this weekend couldn’t feel any better.
Here are our Panthers-Rams NFL Week 6 picks (odds via PointsBet and DraftKings Sportsbook; pick confidence based on a 1-to-5-star scale).

Panthers vs. Rams Picks

- Prop: Matt Stafford Over 260.5 passing yards (-115 via DraftKings) ★★★★
Panthers vs. Rams ATS Pick
Rams -10 (-105) ★★★★
L.A. is 25th in DVOA offensively when it comes to the pass and the run. That’s not very promising, but the good news is this team is 17th in DVOA against the pass and fifth against the run. The Rams remain solid defensively after making their mark on that end last season, and while quarterback Matt Stafford took a step back this year he’ll be up against a pretty soft opponent.
The Panthers are 22nd in DVOA against the pass, which is fantastic news since the Rams are first in pass play rate, and considering L.A. running back Cam Akers will miss this game. The Rams need to win through the air, and the Panthers can do little to stop it. It doesn’t help that corners Jaycee Horn and Donte Jackson are injured this week, and Stanley Thomas-Oliver III is still out.
That’s the biggest edge, and as long as Rams wideout Cooper Kupp and defensive tackle Aaron Donald play (they’re on the injury report, but expected to go), this should be a wash.
Panthers vs. Rams O/U Pick
Over 41.5 (-110) ★★★★
Passing, passing, passing. The Panthers are inexplicably ninth in pass play rate despite using running back Christian McCaffery. We already touched on how the Rams were first in that regard. The Panthers are also fifth in pace and should fly down the field to try and catch the Rams after falling behind early.
The game script fits a high-scoring affair, and while the Panthers haven’t shown too much on offense they can find a way through L.A. with McCaffery's shiftiness. The Rams rank 28th in points per play and have fallen asleep at the wheel at times on that end. Panthers QB P.J. Walker showed some signs of life last season and might reinvigorate this offense just enough to get some points up.
Panthers vs. Rams Prop Pick
Stafford Over 260.5 passing yards (-115) ★★★★
Stafford has gone over 261 yards on two of five occasions, but has never dipped below 240 yards while averaging over 264 per game. The Panthers are just 17th in passing yards per game against, and once again the Rams will do nothing but throw.
The script may fit a run-heavy attack in the second half. However, with Akers inactive and Stafford struggling all season to establish any consistency, it’s unlikely the Rams just pack it in after taking a lead and run the clock down in the second. Expect Stafford to try and find himself again and build off his first 300-yard game in Week 5.
