That historically poor outing is one of the reasons I'm backing them to cover as the 3-point betting underdog at home with my NFL picks against the spread for Week 8.
Mike Tomlin and his Steelers usually don't take humiliating setbacks like the one at Paycor Stadium lying down. Along with the prove-something motivation they'll enter the matchup with now, the Steelers were 3-1 against the spread (ATS) as a home underdog in 2024. They're also 7-3 ATS at Acrisure Stadium since the start of last season.
Meanwhile, the Green Bay Packers are 0-3 ATS this season as the road betting favorite, losing outright to Cleveland before tying the Dallas Cowboys. The Packers beat the Arizona Cardinals 27-23 in Week 7, missing covering by three points. Green Bay won two of four games as the road betting favorite last season.
There's also the Rodgers factor to consider. The 41-year-old, one of the only reasons Pittsburgh earned a chance in Cincy, will be keenly awaiting this contest and ready to showcase his best, as it marks the first time he'll face the team the veteran spent 18 seasons with.
