A frigid and blustery day that only the abominable snowman could love is standard stuff as the wind whips off Lake Michigan in Chicago during December. But it's still difficult to navigate, even for two teams with plenty of experience playing in winter's icy grip.
The Packers and Bears will be faced with that challenge tonight after the sun drops and temperatures plunge, with the wind picking up enough to make passing uncomfortable at the very best. The probability of precipitation is low, but the chilly air and gusts are enough.

💰 Packers vs. Bears betting impact
There will be an extra foe to battle as the fight for the NFC North hits its peak tonight, one that will likely change the shape of the game and make getting chunk gains through the air a daunting task.
That likely lack of passing, or at least success throwing in the intermediate-to-deep ranges, is critical to keep in mind while plugging in your Packers vs. Bears player props bets. Here are the key areas where the weather will make its mark.
- A focus on the ground game. It's hard to pass against the Packers' seventh-ranked secondary even during a blissfully sunny day. That becomes increasingly more challenging now, forcing both teams to focus on running the ball and short passing. The Bears and their second-ranked rushing offense won't mind that, but their defense that gets gashed on the ground sure will.
- A constantly churning clock. The total for this game opened at 45.5 and is now down to 44 at some of the best sports betting sites. Both teams will likely need to methodically work their way downfield amid the tough winds. However, Josh Jacobs possibly sitting out complicates matters further for Green Bay.
- Tough kicking. The domino effect of the elements on player props is clear, with the game environment ideal for rushing and much less so for passing. But longer field goals will be far harder, which could either keep scoring low, or have the opposite effect as teams go for it on fourth down even more.
