Will Giants End Historic Streak on Thursday Night Football? TNF Odds & Predictions

When the New York Giants face the Philadelphia Eagles tonight at 8:15 p.m. ET (Prime Video), they'll be looking for their first win on Thursday Night Football in over 10 years.
That's right - it's been a decade since the Giants last won on Thursday Night Football, which was a 32-31 win over NFC East rival Washington on Sept. 24, 2015. Since then, they've dropped 10 straight games on Thursdays, including twice last year to their fellow rival Cowboys.
The Eagles are favored by 7.5 points with -400 moneyline odds (80% chance to win) to extend the Giants' misery on Thursday nights. Will that streak end tonight with former Giants star Saquon Barkley in the house but on the opposite sideline?
๐ฝCan Giants snap 10-year losing streak on TNF?
New York has been the worst team on Thursday Night Football for over a decade now, and the only question Giants fans are left asking: how does this keep happening?
The G-Men have had three general managers since 2015 - Jerry Reese, Dave Gettleman, and current general manager Joe Schoen - and have seen even more head coaching changes along the way. They have churned through Tom Coughlin, Ben McAdoo, Steve Spagnuolo, Pat Shurmur, Joe Judge, and current head coach Brian Daboll. Through tumultuous turnover, the results have stayed the same.
The Giants have a chance to save themselves from the history books tonight, as the longest losing streak on Thursday Night Football belongs to the Arizona Cardinals (11 games). They can tie that losing streak record tonight against the defending Super Bowl champion Eagles - a fitting demise across a decade in which they've won just 34.2% of their games overall.
It's not like the Giants haven't had opportunities to win on Thursday Night Football, either. Six of their 10 losses have come by one score or less, including two defeats by just one point. Eight of those losses have been to NFC East rivals, which doesn't bode well for tonight's matchup with the Eagles.

๐ฎ Giants vs. Eagles prediction
Unfortunately for Giants fans, tonight is not going to be the night they end this terrible Thursday Night Football streak.
The Eagles (4-1) are entering this game tied with the best record in the NFL, while the Giants (1-4) enter this game on an opposite trajectory with injuries abound. New York will be without star wide receiver Malik Nabers, who was lost for the season with a torn ACL, as well as veteran receiver Darius Slayton.
The Giants already have a young offense led by rookie QB Jaxson Dart and rookie running back Cam Skattebo. This will be a very difficult game to navigate for the young rookies without the bulk of their receiving production.
There is some hope for the Giants, as the Eagles will be without their best offensive lineman Landon Dickerson. The strength of this New York team is its defensive line, so Dickerson's absence does open the door for the Giants' pass rush to make a few game-altering plays. If Big Blue can force a few turnovers, it has a puncher's chance at hanging around in this game - I just do not see this talented Eagles team allowing that to happen.
Prediction: Eagles 28, Giants 14
๐ฐ Giants vs. Eagles best bet
My favorite bet in the Giants vs. Eagles Thursday Night Football game is Jaxson Dart Over 219.5 passing and rushing yards combined. The game script should play out with the Giants trailing early, and they will need to fight their way back into this game - which should mean plenty of opportunities for Dart.
The rookie's legs should be a major factor in this game. In his last game against the New Orleans Saints, Dart threw for 202 yards and rushed for an additional 55 yards. In tonight's contest, I do expect his passing numbers to be around where they were last game with an uptick in his rushing performance.
The only way the Giants stay in this game is if the defensive line has its best game of the season and Dart has a massive game. I have faith that Dart will do his part - as does Dustin Saracini with his Jaxson Dart player props - the only question to me is if the defense will do its job.
Best bet: Jaxson Dart Over 219.5 passing and rushing yards (-110 via FanDuel)
