Patrick Mahomes is on a tear, and he's taken command of the MVP odds race, with his odds shortening to +175 after another dominant performance.

Mahomes' two biggest threats, Josh Allen and Baker Mayfield, were idle on Sunday, and the Kansas City Chiefs QB took full advantage, tossing three touchdown passes en route to a 31-0 demolition of the Las Vegas Raiders.

Mayfield and his Tampa Bay Buccaneers will face the Detroit Lions on Monday Night Football, which we cover extensively in our NFL picks. Meanwhile, Drake Maye's MVP odds are now the fourth shortest after another historic week for the 23-year-old dynamo.

🔴 Patrick Mahomes takes command of MVP race

Mahomes tossed another three TD passes, making it 11 in the last four games. He has 13 touchdowns compared to a single pick in that span, ascending the MVP odds leaderboard in the process.

He's now the +175 MVP odds favorite, trading ahead of the idle Allen (+350) and Mayfield (+450), the league's most clutch QB entering Week 7.

Mahomes' odds imply a 36.36% probability of winning his third regular-season MVP award. And based on the last four weeks, only Mayfield, Maye, Jones, and arguably Matthew Stafford are performing at a comparative level.

His level was so impressive today that he became the only QB since 2000 with 200 passing yards and three passing touchdowns on the first three drives of the game. Unsurprisingly, he was rested in the fourth quarter.

Allen is still receiving the second-shortest odds despite struggling in the last two weeks. Jones, trading at +2000, deserves more credit than he's receiving.

However, Mahomes is in the driver's seat, and rightly so. Entering Week 7, Mahomes led the Chiefs in rushing. That's a testament to Mahomes' dominance in all phases, along with a condemnation of the team's lacklustre ground game.

A winning $10 bet on Mahomes at FanDuel will profit $17.50.
