The MVP chants rained down from the visiting stands at M&T Bank Stadium, and oddsmakers responded after Drake Maye led the New England Patriots to a thrilling comeback win over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday Night Football.

Matthew Stafford remains the favorite by the NFL MVP odds entering Week 16 after his sensational performance for the Los Angeles Rams in an overtime loss to the Seattle Seahawks on Thursday. But Maye is hot on his heels after erasing a double-digit deficit in the fourth quarter of a 28-24 win in Baltimore.

Stafford had a chance to effectively seal this race on Thursday with a win over the rival Seahawks. He didn't do that but still finished with three touchdowns and a season-high 457 passing yards in a 38-37 overtime loss in a clash of Super Bowl odds favorites.  

That opened the door for Maye, whose MVP case looked shaky midway through Sunday's tilt against the Ravens - who took a 24-13 lead early in the fourth quarter of a game they simply couldn't afford to lose. That mattered none to the sophomore star, who led New England to 15 straight points and finished with 380 yards and two touchdowns.

Stafford has still had the more impressive statistical season in my view, which is why I predicted that Stafford will win MVP two weeks ago. But this race clearly isn't over if the Patriots quarterback keeps playing like this down the stretch.
