Jayden Reed is one of the top young wide receivers in the NFL, but his season has been sidetracked by injury. Reed underwent surgery on both his clavicle and left foot on Sept. 16. The good news is that the Michigan State product is expected to be back this season. Below, we will look at exactly when Reed will return and be back in a Packers uniform. We will also look at Reed’s fantasy football stock, and Packers betting odds.

🩹 When will Jayden Reed return and be back with Packers?

Reed was already banged up with a foot injury, but was playing through it, when he suffered a broken clavicle in the Packers’ 27-18 victory over the Washington Commanders on Sept. 11. He is expected to be out for six-to-eight weeks.

It is unlikely that the Packers rush the WR back, so eight weeks or slightly more is the most likely timeline for Reed’s return to the field.

Eight weeks from when the injury occurred would be Nov. 6. Green Bay’s first game after that date is a key Monday night showdown against the defending Super Bowl champion Philadelphia Eagles.

Here is a look at the Packers’ schedule around the time that Reed is expected to be back:

  • Week 10 Monday, Nov. 10: Philadelphia Eagles at Green Bay Packers
  • Week 11 Sunday, Nov. 16: Green Bay Packers at New York Giants
  • Week 12 Sunday, Nov. 23: Minnesota Vikings at Green Bay Packers
  • Week 13 Thursday, Nov. 27: Green Bay Packers at Detroit Lions

⏳ How long will Jayden Reed be out for?

Recovery from a broken clavicle, commonly known as a collarbone, typically takes around two months.

One comp we can make is one concerning former NFL quarterback Nick Foles. While a quarterback with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2019, Foles suffered a broken clavicle in the first game of the season. The injury occurred on Sept. 8 of that year, and he returned to play on Nov. 17 of that season.

The time in between the injury and his return was 71 days (two months and 10 days). Reed has already been out of action for 23 days.

🏈 Jayden Reed fantasy football outlook

Reed was going anywhere from Round 8 to Round 12 in most 12-team PPR fantasy football drafts. The third-year man out of Michigan State is the top slot receiver on the Packers and is a considerable red zone threat. He tallied eight touchdowns in his rookie campaign, six TDs last year and has one so far this season.

Reed is currently on 43% of rosters in Yahoo! fantasy football leagues.
