I'm breaking down how to bet the Super Bowl alt lines ahead of Super Bowl 2026 between the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots.

We have a plethora of betting guides in our Super Bowl predictions leading up to the Big Game. Super Bowl 60 is on Sunday, Feb. 8, at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. (6:30 p.m. ET on NBC and Peacock).

🏈 How to bet Super Bowl alt lines 2026

Alt line betting (also called alternate lines) lets bettors wager on modified point spreads or totals instead of the standard line across our best sports betting sites. By moving the number up or down, bettors can either reduce risk in exchange for a smaller payout or take on more risk for the chance at a higher return.

The current spread set by sportsbooks is Seahawks -4.5 at -110 odds. That means if you bet the Seahawks -4.5 and they win by five or more points, a $10 wager would return $9.09. If you believe the Seahawks will win by at least a touchdown, you can bet the alternate spread of -6.5 at +120 odds via FanDuel, which would return $12. The payout can increase dramatically depending on which alternate line you choose.

You can also attack the total the same way as the spread. The Over/Under is set at 45.5 on DraftKings with the Over coming in at -112 odds, and the Under at -108 odds. a $10 wager on the Over 45.5 at Draftkings nets you $8.92 while $10 on the Under returns $9.26. If you believe this game will go over 49 total points, you can bet the alt total of Over 49.5 at +133 odds via DraftKings. This would net you a return of $13.33.

📈 Using Super Bowl alt lines in parlays

Bettors frequently use alternate lines to correlate parlays when they expect a game to play out a certain way. If you believe the Super Bowl will be high-scoring and also think the Seahawks will win, you can buy the spread down and the total down, then parlay the two together.

For example, if you’re confident the Seahawks will win outright and expect a solid amount of scoring - but not enough to push the game over the 45.5 total - you can buy the total down. If you buy the spread down to Seahawks -1.5 and the total down to Over 39.5, you create a parlay priced at -105. Those odds are shorter than betting both the standard spread of -4.5 and the Over of 45.5.  If you’re unfamiliar with how parlays work, you must hit both legs for the bet to return a profit. So the Seahawks would have to win by two or more points, and the game must have Over 39 total points.

❌ Common mistakes to avoid with Super Bowl alt lines

Chasing plus-money bets just because they offer a substantially bigger payout is a common way to fail. Selling points on either the spread or total solely to secure a larger profit is a proven long-term losing strategy. Just because a juicy line is available doesn’t mean you should jump on it.

Compare the price difference to how often that extra cushion actually matters. Often, the standard line still offers the best value. Alternate lines can be very profitable and a smart strategy, as long as you do your research and understand which key numbers you want to be on the historical right side of.
