Green Bay is a 6.5-point favorite for this one despite playing on the road. Make sure to check out the rest of our NFL predictions for Week 4 so that you don’t miss any winning slips, including the below play for Matthew Golden.

💰 Best Packers vs. Cowboys first touchdown scorer bets

Here are my favorite Seahawks vs. Cardinals first touchdown scorer picks for Thursday Night Football.

🧀 Packers first touchdown scorer prediction: Matthew Golden, WR (+1300) ⭐⭐⭐

The Green Bay Packers finally bit the bullet and drafted a wide receiver in the first round of this year’s draft, but the results have been underwhelming thus far. Golden has caught just six of eight targets for 68 yards and no touchdowns – but we’re betting on him to turn things around by scoring the first touchdown in tonight’s edition of Sunday Night Football.

This pick largely comes down to the Dallas defense. The Cowboys struggle to stop opposing wide receivers. They have allowed the most receiving yards to the position this year (661) to go with the most receiving touchdowns as well (6). They coughed up three touchdowns to wideouts against the Bears just last week.

Golden has the speed necessary to turn any reception into a house call, and getting him at friendly +1300 (7.1%) to score the first touchdown is a deal too good to pass up. A simple $10 bet on him to score first would turn a nice $130 profit.

Our Esten McLaren also loves Golden to hit paydirt as part of his best anytime touchdown scorers for Sunday Night Football.

🤠 Cowboys first touchdown scorer prediction: Jalen Tolbert, WR (+2500) ⭐⭐⭐

With CeeDee Lamb sidelined, the Cowboys are pressed for depth at wide receiver. George Pickens is a capable option, but I’m more interested in a player who sits a bit further down the depth chart, Jalen Tolbert. Drafted by the Cowboys in 2022, Tolbert hasn’t done a ton, but he did rank second among all Cowboys in red-zone targets last year with 13. He caught eight of those looks for seven touchdowns.

Dallas has a tough task ahead in taking on a Green Bay defense that has allowed just 285 receiving yards to wideouts this year. Still, if the Cowboys can get the ball into the red zone, Tolbert should be high on Dak Prescott’s list of potential targets. He was too efficient near the goal line last year for the Cowboys to simply forget about him. He currently ranks second on the team in red zone targets this year, too, with three.

Tolbert scoring first is just one of many of our best Packers vs. Cowboys predictions.

With Pickens’ first touchdown odds at +1100 (8.3%), it makes far more sense to get some exposure to Tolbert at +2500 (3.8%). A bet on the young wideout to score first would yield a $250 profit on a $10 bet.

🎯 Best long shot to score first touchdown: Green Bay D/ST (+3000) ⭐⭐⭐

With Micah Parsons making his return to AT&T Stadium to take on the Cowboys, it’s likely that we see some defensive splash plays on Sunday night. The Dallas offensive line will do its best to keep Prescott upright, but it only ranks 18th in pass-block win rate (57%), so expect Prescott to face plenty of pressure versus Green Bay’s sixth-ranked defense by pressure rate (26.3%).

Green Bay can cash this slip with a fumble return or a pick six, both of which are possible products of the defense getting to Prescott. Safety Xavier McKinney has the speed necessary to turn a simple interception into six points and is coming off an eight-interception season just a year ago.

Back the Packers defense and special teams to draw first blood on Sunday to score a $300 profit on a $10 bet.
