We get to double dip while taking two swings at an attempt to nail the opening scorer in our first touchdown scorer predictions for Monday Night Football.

The league has gloriously provided us with more football this Monday night for our NFL picks, with the Miami Dolphins as -3.5 favorites over the New York Jets, and their clash beginning at 7:15 p.m. ET from Hard Rock Stadium.

Meanwhile, the Denver Broncos are the -7.5 favorites over the Cincinnati Bengals, with that tilt starting at 8:15 p.m. ET from Empower Field at Mile High.

We're eyeing two running backs to potentially score first in the Jets-Dolphins affair, and there's an appealing long shot ahead of Bengals-Broncos.

💰 Best Jets vs. Dolphins first touchdown scorer bets: MNF

Here are my favorite Jets vs. Dolphins first touchdown scorer picks for Monday Night Football.

✈️ Jets first touchdown scorer prediction: Breece Hall, RB (+850) ⭐⭐⭐

A running back admittedly often isn't the sexiest pick in this market. But it's tough to resist whenever the tailback in question is even in the vicinity of 10/1 betting odds, and especially so in this case with the Dolphins getting regularly steamrolled on the ground.

The Dolphins were blown out in Week 1, but their last two losses were close, so a slanted game script for the opposition wasn't in play. That includes a struggling and winless team staying with the mighty Buffalo Bills last week while down seven points entering the fourth quarter before tying the game early in that frame (they eventually suffered a 10-point loss).

Opponents are well aware of how to attack this Dolphins defense, as evidenced by the team's 145 rushing yards allowed per game (29th). Miami is also giving up the sixth-most fantasy points per game to running backs (20.9). The team has permitted the first touchdown in two of its first three games so far this season, too.

A $10 bet using the +850 price from DraftKings would result in an $85 profit, with an implied probability of 10.53%.

🐬 Dolphins first touchdown scorer prediction: Ollie Gordon, RB (+1600) ⭐⭐⭐

De'Von Achane is still the lead weapon in Miami's backfield, but suddenly rookie Ollie Gordon is beginning to carve out a role for himself. And now, much like the defense on his own sideline, he gets to face an opposition that's been generous to opposing rushers with the Jets giving up 133 rushing yards per game (26th).

Gordon finished only three carries behind Achane (getting nine to his teammate's 12) during the Dolphins' loss last week to Buffalo. That's a substantial increase from the single carry he received in Week 2.

More critically, there are early signs of the Dolphins liking Gordon's bruising presence around the goal line while favoring Achane as the pass-catching back. The former has received two carries inside the 5-yard line, while the latter has yet to register one this season.

A $10 wager on these +1600 odds from bet365 would lead to a $160 profit, with an implied probability of 5.88%.

💰 Best Bengals vs. Broncos first touchdown scorer bets: MNF

Here are my favorite Bengals vs. Broncos first touchdown scorer picks for Monday Night Football.

🐯 Bengals first touchdown scorer prediction: Ja'Marr Chase, WR (+1300) ⭐⭐⭐

It's hard to imagine the Bengals doing much scoring at all in a tough road environment against a daunting Broncos defense with Jake Browning under center. He's thrown five interceptions across two games, and that's another factor for why the best sports betting sites are setting Cincinnati's team points total at just 17.5.

The spread is slanted in the wrong direction, too, with the Bengals as +7.5 underdogs. But as always in this market, getting steamrolled doesn't stop a team from scoring first. And we're a coin flip win then a few chunk plays away from a highly targeted red-zone threat being in position to cash +1300 betting odds for you.

Ja'Marr Chase isn't far removed from a league-leading 17 receiving touchdowns last season, with many of those scores a product of his also NFL-leading 35 red-zone targets. Of course, that all came with Joe Burrow healthy. But Browning and Chase showed some chemistry previously during the backup's stint taking over in 2023, including a 149-yard outing for the wideout.

A $10 wager while locking in the +1300 price from DraftKings would result in a $130 profit, with an implied probability of 7.14%.

🐎 Broncos first touchdown scorer prediction: Evan Engram, TE (+2000) ⭐⭐⭐

Evan Engram is perhaps the best long-shot play to score first in either game Monday night.

The Broncos are poised to do a whole lot of scoring in general against a Bengals defense allowing 30.3 points per game (28th). The team was just walloped, 48-10, while giving up four offensive touchdowns to the Minnesota Vikings.

Engram's prime might be behind him at 31 years old, but he can still exploit a juicy matchup. That's what he faces against a Bengals defense that gave up the second-most touchdowns to tight ends last season (10), and now Cincy has coughed up two through three outings this campaign.

If Engram is the latest long-shot tight end to come through for us after AJ Barner did the same on Thursday Night Football, a $10 bet on these +2000 odds from bet365 would translate to a $200 in profit, with an implied probability of 4.76%.
