Last Updated: September 22, 2025 2:14 PM EDT • 6 minute read X Social Google News Link

The Detroit Lions are traveling to Baltimore and taking on the Ravens tonight, and we’re here to dive into my best first touchdown scorer predictions for Monday Night Football as our NFL picks series continues. Kickoff from M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore is at 8:15 p.m. ET (ABC/ESPN).
The Ravens are a 4.5-point betting favorite, but our NFL predictions for Week 3 include a big-play Lions wideout as a possible first touchdown scorer. That is, if our two Ravens don't beat him to it.

💰 Best Lions vs. Ravens first touchdown scorer bets
Here are my favorite Lions vs. Ravens first touchdown scorer picks for Monday Night Football.
🦁 Lions first touchdown scorer prediction: Jameson Williams, WR (+2000) ⭐⭐

While I don’t think the Lions draw first blood in this one, if they do, it’ll likely stem from a broken play courtesy of wide receiver Jameson Williams. The blazing-fast receiver posted a 94th percentile 40-yard dash time at the combine and owns the deep-ball receiver role in this offense. Through two weeks, Williams has 36.6% of the Lions’ air yards on just 13.6% of the team’s total targets.
The Ravens have a solid secondary, but we saw them cough up an opening-drive touchdown to the Bills, along with plenty of chunk passing plays. If the Lions can scheme Williams open deep downfield, quarterback Jared Goff has the arm to get him the ball, and Williams has the speed to get into the end zone. I have far more faith in him scoring first than anyone else on this team.
You can buy Williams to score the first touchdown for the generous price of +2000 (4.8%) at DraftKings, which would yield a $200 profit on a $10 bet.
And, if first touchdowns aren’t your thing – or you just want to diversify your card – you can find him in our anytime touchdown scorer predictions for Monday Night Football as well.
🐦⬛ Ravens first touchdown scorer prediction: Mark Andrews, TE (+1200) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The last few seasons haven’t been kind to tight end Mark Andrews’ legacy. From his awful start to last season to his dropped two-point conversion in the playoffs, it’d be easy to write him off as washed. However, despite having failed to score this year, Andrews leads the Ravens with two red-zone targets. He also led the team in red-zone targets last year with 15. His main competition, Isaiah Likely, remains sidelined with an injury.
Andrews is coming off an 11-touchdown regular season, just the second time in his eight-year career that he crossed into double digits. That said, it took him until Week 6 to score for the first time. Just because he has been shaky to start 2025 doesn’t mean it’s time to write him off just yet, but the books are essentially doing just that by offering such generous odds for him to score the first touchdown.
Back Andrews to find the end zone first at odds of +1200 (7.7%) at BetMGM, where a $10 bet will return a $120 profit.
🎯 Best long shot to score first touchdown: Charlie Kolar, TE (+6600) ⭐⭐

We’ll wrap up with Baltimore’s other active tight end, Charlie Kolar. While he doesn’t have the name recognition of Likely or Andrews, he has scored a touchdown in back-to-back seasons with the Ravens, and he sees plenty of playing time. Kolar played on 60.8% of the snaps in Week 1 and 58.9% in Week 2. While those didn’t come with a target, he is on the field more than enough to warrant one.
It’s not like Kolar is just going out there to block, either. Through two weeks, he sports a solid 41.5% route participation rate. The Ravens may be a run-first team, and Kolar may be far down the list of their receiving weapons, but he could easily snag the first touchdown if the Ravens want to show run but throw one over the top. Lock him in for +6600 (1.5%) at BetMGM to score a $660 return on a $10 bet.
