My early Lions vs. Ravens prediction expects two of the league's most explosive offenses to deliver on their reputations on Monday Night Football as part of our NFL predictions for Week 3.

The Ravens are a 4.5-point betting favorite ahead of Monday's 8:15 p.m. ET kickoff at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore (ABC/ESPN).

My NFL picks are backing the Over after both teams topped 40 points a week ago.

💰 Early Lions vs. Ravens prediction & best bet

Stay ahead with the rest of our early NFL predictions.

⬆️ Over 51.5 (-110) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Ravens have scored at least 40 points in each of their first two games this season, while the Lions just put up 52 against the Bears. The Over seems like an obvious bet, as these two offenses were clicking in Week 2, and both defenses have shown blemishes to start the season.

The Lions’ defense gave up 27 to the Packers in Week 1, while the Ravens gave up 41 in their Week 1 loss to the Bills. The defenses will have their work cut out for them again, as Lamar Jackson has thrown six touchdowns and zero interceptions this season, while Goff threw five touchdowns last week.

The total is set at 51.5 for now, with most of the best sports betting sites offering the Over for -110. That implies a 52.38% chance the Over hits, and a $10 bet would pay $9.09.

🔍 Lions vs. Ravens odds analysis

The total for this game is set at 51.5, but it’s going to get much higher before kickoff, as 81% of bettors are backing the Over. Considering how much these two teams scored in Week 2, there’s no reason to expect the support for the Over to slow down, and I wouldn’t be surprised if this number got as high as 54. While the spread has moved to Ravens -6 at some of the best sports betting apps, I don’t expect this spread to move through the key number of 7. If it does get to 7.5, take the Lions to cover.

👀 Lions vs. Ravens odds update

After opening at Ravens -5.5, the spread has shortened to as low as -4.5 as money has come in on Detroit. Meanwhile, the Over/Under is now as high as 53 at some sportsbooks, so we're happy we got our bet in at 51.5 points.

How do NFL odds work?

When betting on NFL odds, the point spread shows how many points the favorite needs to win by in order to cash the bet. For example, a favorite of -3 must win by more than 3 points to cover the spread, while an underdog at +3 must win outright or lose by fewer than 3 points to cover the spread.

Moneyline odds represent the payout for picking the outright winner (+200 means a $100 bet wins $200, while -200 means a $200 bet wins $100). Over/Unders let you wager on whether the combined total will be higher or lower than the set number.
