The 49ers are the 3-point betting favorite according to the opening odds ahead of the 8:20 p.m. ET kickoff from Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif. (NBC). However, my early NFL picks back the road underdogs at a favorable number.

A lot can change in 24 hours, and this line has the chance for a lot of variance given that the Falcons play on Monday Night Football. However, the value is certainly there at DraftKings for this early prediction, as it is the only one of the best sports betting sites offering the hook at +3.5 instead of the key number of three.
Atlanta entered Week 6 allowing the second-fewest explosive plays (14) and the fewest passing yards per game (108), which is 46 fewer than any other team. Opposing teams also have the seventh-worst EPA per dropback and sixth-worst completion percentage over expected against the Falcons defense.
Falcons head coach Raheem Morris has a much better ATS road record (21-18-1) than at home (13-25 ATS). And when his teams play on the road directly after a home game, they are 18-9-1 ATS. That includes a 22-6 outright upset as a +145 moneyline underdog of the Vikings in the Week 2 Sunday Night Football matchup this season.
DraftKings’ -110 odds carry a 52.38% implied probability, and would net $9.09 on a $10 wager if the Falcons cover the spread.

💡 Falcons vs. 49ers odds analysis
Despite San Francisco’s Week 6 loss, it is still 4-2, with five of the six games decided by five or fewer points. But those positive trends were not enough to keep the line from being bet down from an opening number of -3.5 to -3 at most best sports betting sites, especially after the team lost linebacker Fred Warner for the season to an ankle injury.
If the 49ers get healthier in other areas this week with Brock Purdy back under center along with a key wide receiver (Ricky Pearsall), there is a chance the line gets back to -3.5 or higher. But it is not like Mac Jones was a huge drop-off from Purdy with the team going 3-1 in his four starts, and we are not likely to see any 3.5s all week if the Falcons upset the Bills on Monday Night Football.
The total rose as high as one point to 45.5 at DraftKings just hours after San Francisco’s Week 6 game ended. That line movement seems justified, and this line should continue to grow, especially since the 49ers allowed 30 points to a Tampa Bay offense that ended Week 6 without its three best wide receivers and starting running back.
