Kansas City faces an uphill challenge to avoid the first 0-2 start of the Patrick Mahomes era without several key players, which we break down with our best Eagles vs. Chiefs player props.

⬆️ DeVonta Smith Over 56.5 receiving yards (-115) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

DeVonta Smith led all Eagles wide receivers in snaps in Week 1. He now gets a tasty matchup against a Chiefs defense that has allowed the eighth-most targets to slot receivers since 2024.

Smith has played four games against Kansas City, including two Super Bowls. In those games, he has amassed 24 catches, 390 yards, and a touchdown while totaling 99-plus receiving yards in three of the four.

This number has come up slightly from 55.5 earlier in the week and is as high as 57.5 at other best sports betting sites. I don’t mind paying up slightly for the 53.49% implied probability through BetMGM’s -115 odds to get a better number. A $10 winning wager would return $8.70 in profits.

⬇️ Isiah Pacheco Under 34.5 rushing yards (-114) ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco did not give much reason for optimism in Week 1 that he will be a consistent focal point of the offense.

Pacheco played less than half the snaps and had seven total touches last week. He now faces an Eagles defense that's allowed the eighth-fewest rushing yards per game to running backs since 2024. Philadelphia also gets its best run-stuffer back in Jalen Carter, who essentially served a one-game suspension last week for a spitting incident.

Patrick Mahomes’ 6.8 air yards per attempt in Week 1 ranked 22nd among all quarterbacks, so I expect the Eagles to load the box even more without much threat of a downfield passing attack.

Of all the best sports betting apps offering a total of 34.5 (this line is as low as 33.5), DraftKings offers the best price. Through its -114 odds, which carry a 53.27% implied probability, a $10 winning wager would net $8.77 in profits.

⬇️ Patrick Mahomes Under 1.5 passing touchdowns (-105) ⭐⭐⭐

In two games (both wins) in 2021-22 against the Eagles, the Chiefs' offense averaged 40 points and 405.5 yards per game while committing one turnover. In the last two meetings since 2023 (both losses), Kansas City averaged 19.5 points and 305.5 yards per game and committed five turnovers.

Pass protection was an issue for Kansas City in Week 1. It ranked 25th with a 52% pass-block win rate, and Mahomes was pressured on 33% of dropbacks. That led to being ranked 17th in the league in offensive efficiency.

Forget about Kansas City beating Philadelphia with the deep ball. The Chiefs have the third-worst completion percentage on throws of 25-plus air yards over the last two seasons.

Mahomes has at least two touchdown passes every time he’s played the Eagles, but his dearth of pass-catching weapons will catch up to him in this matchup.

The Under for Mahomes’ 1.5 passing touchdowns is juiced as high as -132 at FanDuel. Thus, we are getting a wager with a 56.90% implied probability at a much better price, as a $10 winning wager through bet365’s -105 odds would pay out $9.52 in profits.
