🏈 Cowboys vs. Commanders predictions & odds (1 PM ET, Netflix)
Neither of these teams are fighting for their playoff lives ahead of this Christmas matinee, but the Cowboys are still looking to finish strong in Brian Schottenheimer's first year as head coach. Meanwhile, the Commanders will turn to journeyman QB Josh Johnson after ruling out starter Jayden Daniels (elbow) and backup Marcus Mariota (hand, quad) amid a disastrous 4-11 campaign following a run to the NFC Championship last year.

🎄 Cowboys -7.5 (-110)
I typically hate to lay the big number on a team that isn't very good, and the Cowboys enter this one below .500 with nothing to play for. But they've looked like an above-average squad since the trade deadline, while the Commanders have spiraled into disaster and will be starting a third-string QB on a short week. That's enough for me to bet the road favorites here.

🏈 Lions vs. Vikings predictions & odds (4:30 PM ET, Netflix)
It's been do-or-die for the Lions for a few weeks now, but after two straight losses and a 3-5 run following a 5-2 start, things have gotten especially dire for Dan Campbell and Co. as they cling to their miniscule playoff chances. They should be well positioned to keep those alive this week against the Vikings, who beat Detroit in Week 9 but will need a heroic effort from backup QB Max Brosmer with starter J.J. McCarthy (hand) ruled out.

🎄 Vikings +7.5 (-114)
This bet has nothing to do with the Vikings' offense - which is clearly a liability with backup QB Max Brosmer under center - and everything to do with this Minnesota defense, which has been the catalyst for the team's three-game win streak to open December. If Brian Flores forces Jared Goff out of his rhythm early, I wouldn't be shocked to see an outright upset for the home underdogs.

🏈 Broncos vs. Chiefs predictions & odds (8:15 PM ET, Prime Video)
The Chiefs' nightmare season continues to trend toward horror after Patrick Mahomes (ACL) and Gardner Minshew (knee) both ruled out for the season. That means Kansas City will turn to former seventh-round pick Chris Oladokun, who will make his first career start after four years as a backup. That's a tough ask against this vaunted Broncos defense, which should be out for blood after getting lit up last week by the Jaguars.

🎄 Broncos -13 (-115)
Last week was a tough look for the Broncos, who were outclassed on both sides of the ball by a sneaky Jaguars bunch. But with the No. 1 seed still in sight, I'm expecting Denver to tee off against third-string QB Chris Oladokun and a floundering Chiefs roster riding a four-game losing streak to close out a wasted season.
