Strange was injured on a non-contact play against the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday Night Football in Week 5. The third-year TE is expected to return this season. NFL Insider Jordan Shultz reported that Strange’s hip injury includes a “ligament tear,” and that the tight end will be out at least five weeks. It is believed that Strange has a minor ligament tear. Minor tears can heal in 2-6 weeks. Strange is going to be on the longer end of that equation, so it is likely that he will be ramping up for a return in late November.

The Jaguars have simply called Strange’s injury a “hip injury.” Shultz added that Strange is also dealing with a quad injury. Both are believed to be mild injuries. The recovery time for a mild quad strain is 1-2 weeks, while the recovery time for a moderate quad strain is 2-6 weeks. The 2-6 week quad strain timeline lines up with the 2-6 week recovery timeline for a minor hip ligament tear.
