This is just the second ranked vs. ranked ACC matchup of the season not involving Duke, and I break down the clash of AP top 25 teams with my UNC vs. Virginia prediction.
No. 14 Virginia is a 7.5-point betting favorite over No. 22 UNC. This home contest for the Cavaliers tips off from John Paul Jones Arena at noon ET (ESPN), and I expect a Cavaliers cover as UNC loses its fourth straight road game.

After UNC lost three of four games entering the week, head coach Hubert Davis tinkered with the starting lineup. While freshman Derek Dixon has averaged 12.5 points and 2.5 assists in the past two games as the starting point guard, the switch from Jarin Stevenson to Jaydon Young on the wing hasn’t paid immediate dividends.
Virginia won its only ranked vs. ranked matchup by nine points at Louisville. The Cavaliers rank 17th in adjusted defensive efficiency, but they're an even better second in ACC play in that metric. They allow just 0.97 points per possession in conference games.
Score prediction: Virginia 86, UNC 76

🔥 Best UNC vs. Virginia player prop: Seth Trimble, UNC, Under 0.5 3-pointers made (+140) ⭐⭐⭐
Virginia boasts the nation’s 12th-best 3-point defense, allowing 28.9% from beyond the arc. But that number improves to a league-best 25.7% in ACC play.
Virginia held Louisville to 26% shooting from 3-point range, and SMU made just five total threes. Only two opponents have made 10-plus threes against them, and they've allowed just one to shoot better than 40% from 3-point range in the last 12 outings.
While Seth Trimble has made a 3-pointer in two of the last three games, anything at plus-money on the Under is outstanding odds given how stingy the Cavaliers' defense has become.
